Your Fishing Charter

It’s time to book a trip to Michigan and fish with Black Shadow Guide Service today! Captain Caleb is a local who grew up fishing the Great Lakes. He started fishing with his dad and grandpa and hasn’t stopped since! He enjoys fishing in tournaments and teaching beginners how to fish. The whole family will love being on a trip with him. 

Your group of 4 (depending on which trip you choose) will be fishing on the Northern Drifter, a 25’ walkaround. There is enough space to fish comfortably and to chase your catch around the boat. The fishfinder and GPS gear will give you that extra edge when out on the water. 

The species you’ll be targeting include Lake Trout, Steelhead, Coho Salmon, and Walleye. These are great fish that will put up a fight. Once you reel them in, the captain will let you know what can be kept and will happily fillet it for you. 

These trips are great for families and beginners alike. You’ll mostly be trolling and jigging. Trolling is perfect for relaxing while waiting for the fish to bite, then having fun reeling it in! Kids over 5 can come on these trips. Life vests are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Included in the price are top quality rods and reels. These won’t let you down when reeling in your catch. The artificial and cut bait is also included.

Everyone over 17 will need to buy a Michigan fishing license before the day of the trip. You’ll also need to bring along a small cooler of food and drink. It’s best to wear layers of clothes, as it can get chilly out on the water. You’ll still need sunscreen and a sun hat though!

This nearshore trip is perfect for families with kids. You'll head up to 5 miles from shore and target Steelhead, Coho Salmon, Walleye, and more. These trips are mostly trolling or jigging, so no fishing experience is needed. Clients over 17 will need to buy a fishing license before the day. They should also bring a cooler with food and drinks for the trip. Wear layers of clothing and white-soled shoes. All fishing gear is included in the price of the trip.
