Line Check Charters operated by Captain Michael Regan and Captain Eric cannot wait to show you the inshore/nearshore fishing in Galveston. The waters here are fantastic and will provide an awesome fishing trip for you and your family. For offshore trips, just check out his second listing.

The boat is a 27’ KeyWest powered by two 200 HP Suzuki engines. She has high sides that will protect you from spray even on choppier waters, as well as all the navigational and safety gear you could ever want. All of this and still plenty of room on deck for up to 6 anglers to fish without crossing rods!

Galveston is a great fishing destination for a multitude of reasons, one of the biggest being how productive the area is. You will find yourself on the fish in no time at all - and the menu options are fantastic too! 

You can expect to catch in the bay and jetty species such as large Red and Black Drum, as well as Gafftop Catfish, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and many more! There is also a huge variety of Shark species. 

Depending on the season, nearshore fishing can also provide you with Ling, Bull Drum and King Mackerel.

Light and heavy tackle is provided, but more experienced anglers that wish to fly fish will need to bring their own equipment. For everyone else, you will be using tackle by Accurate, Penn and Shimano and fishing predominantly with live bait. A variety of bait and lures are brought aboard each charter depending on what the clients are interested in catching and how the fish are biting.

This is the most popular trip, especially for families with young kids. Come fish the famous Galveston Jetty complex. You and your party can encounter huge Red and Black Drum as well as the many Shark species that call these waters home. Fill the cooler with Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, and many other popular table fish. For very small children, please contact the captain so smaller life vests can be arranged. Bring along your fishing license, snacks and drinks, and you are ready to go!

Families with kids love this trip. You will target Black and Red Drum, Shark, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead and many more! For very small children, parents should contact the captain prior to the trip. He will arrange smaller life vests. No experience is needed - Capt. Michael will be with you every step of the way.

4 Hour Trip - Bay & Jetty (AM)

This trip is action-packed, especially in the summer months when the big Sharks of the Gulf come close to shore. This is great for people who want to dip their toes in the water of Shark fishing. You'll make some great memories here! Remember to bring you food and drink along too. Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

4 Hour Trip- Shark & Bull Drum (PM)

This trip is the same as the 4 hour bay and jetty trips, but allows you to spend more time on the water, so there will be more fish in your ice box by the end of the trip! Capt. Michael is happy to fillet this for you, so your catch is ready for the oven! Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

6 Hour Trip - Bay & Jetty

The hardcore version of the shorter trip. You never know how many brutes you might tangle with, so the extra time is great to reel them in. The summer months see a huge increase in shark activity closer to the shore, so be ready to battle! Please bring lots of water, sunscreen, and your fishing license. Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

6 Hour Trip - Shark & Bull Drum

You will head out up to nine miles on this trip. You will fish the rigs and wrecks within this distance. Expect to hook some monster Bull Drum as well as some pelagic species such as Ling and Kingfish. There is no better feeling than that thrill when a huge King takes the bait! Remember your sunscreen, snacks, and plenty of water! Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.
