The boat is a 27' KeyWest powered by two 200 HP Suzuki engines. She has high sides that will protect you from spray even on choppier waters, as well as all the navigational and safety gear you could ever want. All of this and still plenty of room on deck for up to 6 anglers to fish without crossing rods!
Galveston is a great fishing destination for a multitude of reasons, one of the biggest being how productive the area is. You will find yourself on the fish in no time at all - and the menu options are fantastic too!
You can expect to catch in the bay and jetty species such as large Red and Black Drum, as well as Gafftop Catfish, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and many more! There is also a huge variety of Shark species.
Depending on the season, nearshore fishing can also provide you with Ling, Bull Drum and King Mackerel.
Light and heavy tackle is provided, but more experienced anglers that wish to fly fish will need to bring their own equipment. For everyone else, you will be using tackle by Accurate, Penn and Shimano and fishing predominantly with live bait. A variety of bait and lures are brought aboard each charter depending on what the clients are interested in catching and how the fish are biting.

Capt Josh was great. Called the night before and recommended to slip our departure an hour due to forecast sea state. Great call. It was a rough ride out to the rigs, but he got us there smartly and my daughter hooked up with a nice Jack enroute. We did a quick troll for Kings with no luck, then my youngest immediately caught a 41" Cobia. Over the rest of the day we caught a 39" Cobia (throw back) and a handful of State Snapper (2 keepers). Capt Josh and his Mate were highly attentive the whole day. Most likely going back for the Bull Red run.
Josh was on top of everything from start to finish. The weather wasn’t ideal, but it didn’t stop us from having an amazing time on the water. The kids were catching fish almost immediately after their lines hit the water, which made the trip even more exciting. We caught a great variety of fish, including catfish, sheepshead, ladyfish, speckled trout, and the highlight of the day, sandbar sharks. Josh was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure everyone had a great experience. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun and memorable fishing excursion for the whole family.
We had two men, two teenagers, and a pre-teen on board, and Captain Josh delivered one of the best fishing trips we’ve ever had. From the moment we left the dock, he put us right on the fish—nonstop action, great variety, and plenty of excitement for every age in our group. Captain Josh was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to fish with. He worked hard the entire trip, kept everyone engaged, and made sure each of the kids had their own big moments. By the time we headed back in, we were all smiling, worn out in the best way, and our freezer is now completely full. If you’re looking for a captain who knows the water, knows the fish, and knows how to create an unforgettable day for families, Line Check Charters and Captain Josh are the way to go. We’ll be booking again without hesitation.
Captain Josh was absolutely amazing! we had theee adults and three kids 10 and under and he was great with them! each of our kids felt special and forbus adults it was a trip of a lifetime. My husbad, dad and son both caught a huge drum fish and we caught so many salt water catfish we had to stop. Captian Josh knew exactly where tk take us to make are shark fishing dreams a reality. I cant discribe how awesome this was! inwould recommend this group to anyone abd already have! We WILL be back!!
Captain Mike was absolutely amazing!! there wqs a fromt that had moved in and offered to either reschedule, or take us out with some choppy waters! while fhe water was a little rough, the bite was on fire! he got us on the sharks fast! we spent almost the entire trip hooked up! we had a 10 year old boy with us, and captain was amazing at helping him, and gettinf hom on some sharks as well! cant say enough positive things about the experience, and we cant wait to book our next one!
