Line Check Charters operated by Captain Michael Regan and Captain Eric cannot wait to show you the inshore/nearshore fishing in Galveston. The waters here are fantastic and will provide an awesome fishing trip for you and your family. For offshore trips, just check out his second listing.
The boat is a 27’ KeyWest powered by two 200 HP Suzuki engines. She has high sides that will protect you from spray even on choppier waters, as well as all the navigational and safety gear you could ever want. All of this and still plenty of room on deck for up to 6 anglers to fish without crossing rods!
Galveston is a great fishing destination for a multitude of reasons, one of the biggest being how productive the area is. You will find yourself on the fish in no time at all - and the menu options are fantastic too!
You can expect to catch in the bay and jetty species such as large Red and Black Drum, as well as Gafftop Catfish, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and many more! There is also a huge variety of Shark species.
Depending on the season, nearshore fishing can also provide you with Ling, Bull Drum and King Mackerel.
Light and heavy tackle is provided, but more experienced anglers that wish to fly fish will need to bring their own equipment. For everyone else, you will be using tackle by Accurate, Penn and Shimano and fishing predominantly with live bait. A variety of bait and lures are brought aboard each charter depending on what the clients are interested in catching and how the fish are biting.

Stellar Experience with LGBTQ friendly, Captain & Crew
We booked an afternoon trip with Captain Mike. He was very responsive from the initial contact. He gave great direction for pickup/drop off. I let him know we were in town for my friends family emergency. He was amiable to meet us, he and his crew were very friendly, kind, funny, and knowledgeable. We got in the boat and we were told what the trip would be like. It far surpassed both myself and my friends expectations!!!! I am coming back to the area later in the month, if Mike is available we will book with him. Go get some FISH, with Captain Mike!!!

6 Hour Trip - Shark & Bull Drum
13th Birthday Fishing Trip
For my son's 13th birthday, he wanted to go fishing in the ocean. Line Check Charters made that happen. Captain Eric was great, allowing my son to do as much of the work as he wanted including baiting hooks and "trying" to cast the heavy poles. We were able to land 5 sharks and a catfish to round out the experience. When back on dry land Captain Eric fileted our Black Tip and gave us a recommendation on where to take it locally to be cooked. A great time had by all.

4 Hour Trip - Bay & Jetty (AM)
One in a million catch
Captain Michael and Peyton were great! Easy to get along with and very knowledgeable. We took a morning bay and jetty trip as a family with two kids, ages 14 and 7, and it did not disappoint! My husband landed a big one that took us for a wild ride very early on in our trip. Even after all the excitement, we were able to catch quite a few different fish. It was very evident these guys love what they do. 10/10 recommend and would definitely book again!

Awesome Day on the Water!
We had an incredible experience on the water thanks to Captain Eric. From the moment we set out, he put us right on the fish. His knowledge of the area and ability to find the best spots was impressive, and he’s not just a great guide—he’s a fantastic teacher as well. We caught several trout, battled some sizable sharks, and the absolute highlight was hooking into the biggest redfish I’ve ever seen! Captain Eric made the entire trip enjoyable and exciting from start to finish. Highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for a great charter experience. We’ll definitely be back!

4 Hour Trip - Bay & Jetty (AM)
Great Captain - Great Time
Captain Eric was great. Right off bat he put us on fish on the jetties. Between my husband and I and our two boys (14&12) Someone was catching at all times. From redfish, trout, sheephead, lady jacks, and croakers - we kept a few for filleting and even had some bait catches. Left there and used our bait fish to try and catch some sharks. Me and the oldest son both caught a shark while the husband and youngest got to snag some rays. Watching my youngest fight a huge ray for almost 30 mins was priceless. Captain Eric was there to assist when needed and even cut jokes with us all as if he had known us for years (and we felt the same). I would definitely book with him again. Thanks Again Eric!
