Captain James "Sean" McSwigin has over 35 years of fishing experience specializing in inshore, offshore, and tournament fishing. He has won and placed in many of Long Island's prestigious tournaments and has also been featured on the cover of the Long Island Fisherman magazine.

TailWrapped is a 32’ Topaz sportfisherman with twin Caterpillar engines boasting 640 HP, providing a cruise speed of 22-24 knots, getting you to the fishing grounds fast. We can assure you a safe and rewarding experience that your entire party will enjoy.

The clients are a number one priority! From beginner to the most experienced angler, the crew specializes in creating a customized fishing trip for you. Capt. Sean provides everything you’ll need. Brand new top of the line equipment and tackle including Penn and Avet reels, Shimano and custom built rods are provided, as well as bait and ice. Fishing Licenses are also included. 

The first mate will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home or you can bring it to the restaurant at Star Island Yacht Club and have a delicious meal after your trip. All you need to bring is a pair of sunglasses, seasonal clothing, drinks, and snacks.

Montauk is a Mecca for sport fishing and truly is "The Fishing Capital of the World." There is nowhere on earth that you can catch such a diversity of fish and Capt. Sean knows how and where to find them. Inshore you can target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Fluke, Cod, Black Fish, and numerous other species. Offshore, go after Bluefin, Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, and Golden Tilefish.

The perfect way to end your day enjoying beautiful sunsets while fishing under Montauk Point's famous lighthouse. Evenings are prime feeding time for larger Striped Bass and Bluefish. For those who prefer to fish with live bait during this trip can do so for an additional fee.

3 hour trip – Twilight Striped Bass

Early season weekday special  targeting Striped Bass, Bluefish, fluke (summer flounder) & Black seabass.
This trip is priced for up to 5 anglers. Additional charge for  6th person. All rods, tackle and bait are included. A mate will assist you during the trip and will filet your catch. A
 customary 20% gratuity is suggested for the mate.

4 hour 1/2 Day Morning

Bass & bluefish are exciting fish to catch early in the season as These fish migrate to the north. Durring the morning these fish can be found feeding on the surface marked by seabirds diving on  bait. Join us for a great
 morning and take home the freshest fish you will ever eat while making lifelong memories.

Spring Striped Bass & Bluefish (AM)

Half day trips usually consist of either trolling, jigging, or bottom fishing. Target all kinds of inshore species, which are fun to catch and delicious to eat. Your fishing equipment and licenses are included in the price, you only need to bring some snacks and drinks.

5 HOUR TRIP (PM)

Target multiple inshore species on this 9-hour adventure. You can go after Striped Bass, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Fluke, Cod, Blackfish, and many more. Catch cleaning is also included in the price and you get to keep all edible species.

9 Hour Trip

The trip usually starts at 5:00 a.m. but the time is flexible. If you're adventurous, this is a great experience for those wishing to target larger species that swim in these waters. Travel up to 30 miles offshore for this trip, but often don't have to go that far. Targeted species include Mako, Thresher, Blue, Brown, Sandbar, Dusky, and occasionally rare Tiger, Porbeagle, or even Great
 White Shark! Some species are catch, photo, and release only.

9 Hour Trip – Shark

On the inshore Tuna trip, we fish within 30 miles of the shore. This is an exciting trip focusing on Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna. We primarily troll on this trip with 8-10 rods using both artificial and live bait. Departure time may vary.

10 Hour Trip – Tuna Inshore

On this trip, you'll run 40 to 70 miles offshore targeting Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna, White Marlin, Mahi Mahi, and other pelagic species. You'll mostly troll on this trip, dropping the outriggers and put out a spread of 9 to11 rods using top of the line gear, artificial lures, and hand rigged baits.
Departure times vary.

14 HOUR TUNA TRIP

Overnight canyon trips are the ultimate fishing experience. Traveling to "the canyons" located approximately 75 miles from Montauk Point, you can target a variety of big game pelagics. From Blue Marlin to Bigeye Tuna, you never know what might be on the end of your line. On this trip, you'll troll during the daylight hour then switch over to chunking with bait at night. Targeted species include Yellowfin, Bigeye, and Longfin Albacore Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Swordfish, Wahoo, and Marlin. Departure times vary.
