Your Fishing Charter

Captain Mac is operated by Capt. Joe McNamee. At the age of 19, Joe got his first captain's license and since then, he has been mastering his cast and exploring the waters from Cape May to Brigantine, gaining the necessary knowledge with over 40 years experience operating party and charter boats. If you are looking for an experienced captain who knows the area like the back of his hand, you have found the right place. 

The “Captain Mac II” will be your boat for the day. She is a 27’ Shamrock powered by a 315 HP Yanmar engine. Captain Mac II features state-of-the-art navigational electronics and fishfinding technologies on board. There is a private toilet, enclosed cabin to get out of the sun or whatever mother nature throws at you. All tackle and bait will be supplied for you and your party but if you have your own “lucky rod and reel” – feel free to bring them along.

Captain Mac offers a variety of fishing trips that could suit any angler’s needs. A complete beginner or seasoned veteran, everyone is welcome to join in the adventure. All you need to bring is lunch, your favorite drinks, and a sweatshirt – it could be cool on the ocean. The crew will take care of the rest.

Your day out on the water will see you concentrating on local species in season such as: Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Bass, Blackfish, Croakers, Weakfish, Triggerfish, Drumfish and Striped Bass. You might even catch some Sharks. All you have to do is show up.

This 4 hour trip will give you the opportunity to target the early morning bite. You will fish for local species such as Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Bass, Triggerfish, Croakers, Weakfish, Blackfish, Sharks, and Striped Bass, depending on the season. Booking a morning trip will give you time to hit the beach and enjoy the afternoon. If the wind is blowing hard this trip may be switched to back bay or inlet fishing. Captain's choice.

We will fish in the back bay and or inlet fishing for Stripers. We will use light tackle with top water lures or bait. Trip is limited to 3 people. Times may vary with agreement between customers and captain, meaning we will fish when captain suggest when the fish may bite best. Please note this trip is for 3 persons only.

3 hour Back bay Striper fishing

We will fish mainly for Blackfish over wrecks, rocks, or reefs.

4 hour Fall Blackfish (Tautog)

There are numerous types of sharks off the coast of New Jersey, come and experience fighting one of these monsters. All sharks are released back into the wild unharmed for future generations.

4 Hour Shark fishing morning

We fish over rocks, reefs and wrecks for Blackfish.

4 hour Spring Blackfish (Toutog)

There are numerous types of sharks off the coast of New Jersey, come and experience fighting one of these monsters. All sharks are released back into the wild unharmed for future generations. Time may vary based on availability.

4 Hour Trip – Shark Fishing 1 PM 

This 4 hour afternoon trip offers the same type of fishing as the morning trip but allows you to sleep in after a night of fun at the seashore. You will fish for local species such as Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Bass, Triggerfish, Croakers, Weakfish, Blackfish, Sharks and Striped Bass depending on the season. If the wind is blowing hard this trip may be switched to back bay or inlet fishing.

4 Hour Trip (PM)

6 hour Spring Blackfish (Toutog)

We will fish for Blackfish over wrecks, rocks, or reefs.

6 hour Fall Blackfish (Toutog) 

Same as 8 hour Drum fish trip, but less fishing time. Leaving time will be based on availability.

6 Hour Drumfish trip up to 5 people

We will fish mainly for Blackfish over wrecks, rocks, or reefs. leaving time will be an agreement between Captain and customer, between 6am and 8am.

Fall  Blackfish (Tautog) all day

Fishing on rocks, reefs and wrecks targeting Seabass when in season. Time will be based om agreement with customers, anytime between 6am and 8am.

Fall Seabass all day

Fishing rocks, reefs and wrecks targeting Sea Bass when in season. Time will be based on agreement with customers, anytime between 6am and 8am.

Spring Seabass all day. 

We fish over rocks, reefs and wrecks. Leaving time will be agreed by captain and customers between 6am and 8am.
