Will fish with him again

I can’t say enough good things about Captain Jim Adams.  He put us in fish early, and kept us on fish the entire half-day.  People around us were not catching, while we were hauling them in.  The difference is that Captain Adams taught us technique, and we were all better fishermen by the end of the day.  Captain Adams is known as the “Drum Lord” for good reason.

We hauled in 37 pounds of black drum, red fish, flounder and Mangrove Snapper during the morning; an average of 6 keepers per person.  The many additional non-keepers kept us busy and added depth to the experience.

After our time was up, Captain Adams spent an additional 45 minutes showing us dolphin, so that my daughter could take photos.  He also sat with us and visited while our fish were being cleaned.

Captain Adams knows his stuff.  I cannot recommend him enough.

Great day of fishing with Jim.  My girlfriend, daughters and I were looking for a 1/2 day of fishing while on vacation in Port Aransas.  Jim had great reviews and they are well deserved.  No one can promise a good day of fishing, but a great guide will do what he can to deliver on a successful trip and that’s exactly what Jim did.  He was baiting hooks, pulling in fish and checking with other guides to see how their day was going.  Helped with equipment and proper use, replaced hooks when we snagged them on the bottom or rigging and never let an empty hook without bait.  He worked with us on technique and how to properly set the hook for the fish we were after. We pulled a limit of black drum with the largest being 21”.  I will be calling Jim before my next trip to Port A.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JIM FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP!

This was our first time fishing with a guide out of Port Aransas. Captain Jim was knowledgeable and so helpful. He knew the perfect fishing holes.
My boyfriend and I both caught our limits of trout and sheep’s head. We also caught a couple of huge bull reds.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone. You will not be disappointed!
