Between Red snapper and Trigger season and still brought home 44 fish

I was disappointed in this trip. The description said that grouper, mahi mahi, tuna, king fish, Cobia etc was targeted. The captain and deckhand May have been tired and hit, but we were happy and anxious to catch some really nice fish. In my comments when booking, I stated that we regularly catch redfish, trout, and flounder and wanted to target the fish mentioned above. Their attitude was not very friendly at first and was very short. I specifically reminded them of the fish we usually catch and what we wanted to target. Our family of 5 ended up going home with one king fish and 4 or 5 tuna. We caught all of those in the first hour so I was really excited about the final 3 hours. We went next to a feeding school of tuna that were going crazy. Instead of circling it or staying where they were clearly feeding, we just went past them and the captain took us to catch mangrove snapper. I didn’t even know what that was as I have only caught red snapper and baby vermillion on texas coast off pier ledges. We caught a lot of mangrove snapped at the next spot but non were keepers. They were all n even half a foot long - not something appealing to catch for us who catch fighting redfish regularly. It felt elementary which I was specifically trying to avoid amateur fishing by repetitively stating we wanted to catch big fish. I even asked if we could target Cobia and shark again later in the trip. He said he wish he would have known because he wasn’t set up to catch those that day. He told the deck hand that we were trying other spots since all of the snapper were too small. We spent almost 2 of the 4 hours driving in circles in the hot sun and only caught one during that period. We asked if we could fish deeper or fish near structures or target other fish since we weren’t catching anything. He said we couldn’t go deeper because it was only a 4 hour trip. Had I known that we needed to book longer to target bigger fish, I sure would have. It was our first time in Destin and many people recommended that we hire a charter boat to take us because you didn’t have to go far out at all to catch amazing fish that I’ve mentioned. The last hour I requested that we could just head back since we weren’t catching anything and the captain kept saying fishing was “just bad” tide going out, and wasn’t a good time to fish so he was basically saying we weren’t going to be catching anything else. I wanted ya to catch so much that we were tired of feeling. I believe we could have caught much more tuna had we stayed where they were feeding (I have videos of it). With us only catching one keeper each was just sad. I wish I would have booked with someone else. Nothing personal to captain or deck hand, but I paid high for services that I don’t believe I received.
