We had an amazing offshore trip this Saturday with a solid crew of friends ready to put in the work — and it paid off big time. The energy on board was unbeatable — lots of laughs, teamwork, and good vibes all around. This is what Costa Rica fishing is all about.

Captain Novel was so great. He and his boat mate obviously were super experienced and took us to a school of tuna right away. A member of our family got seasick and the captain gave us tips that really worked to make him feel better. Everyone had fun. I would review them higher but if I could.

Tried trolling for Mahi Mahi but unfortunately no bites & was told today no boats caught anything. Switched to bottom fishing & caught 15 Red Snapers & 2 Groupers which are great eating. Was told that other boats didn’t catch anything, even bottom fishing. I brought my own fishing gear & had years of experience bottom fishing at 180 to 200 ft water, wondered if that made the difference or was it pure luck 😬??

Tried trolling for Mahi Mahi but unfortunately no bites & was told today no boats caught anything. Switched to bottom fishing...

We saw two sailfish and got skunked….that’s fishing sometimes. But Novel gave it all …supposed to leave at six and back at two pm. Novel still had lines in water at 234 pm. rough weather tough fishing. GREAT trip!!!! tighter lines next time.

Captain and first mate were great! They got us onto tuna right out of the gate. Brought us a bottle of champagne because I had mentioned it was our honeymoon. They had snacks and beer as well.( typically) went bottom fishing and then onto swordfish. They went a bit longer because we got so close to catching a swordfish several times and were very eager to get us one.
