Half Day Trip (PM) • 6 adults • 3 childrenCaptain Dyson and Cory were absolutely wonderful. We did an afternoon excursion and the weather was perfect. They answered all of our questions and were so friendly and personable. They had patience with our boys and kept everything running smoothly (12 lines in the water at once)! We caught four fish, and were grateful for that because other boats around us weren’t catching any. Our 3 boys (12,11,10) each caught one which was our main goal. We will absolutely be back and will be requsting Dyson and Cory next year!!!

5 Hour Trip (AM) • 4 adults • 2 children3 generations went out fishing with Captain Jamie, the greatest experience we had in a long time. Excellent boat crew and equipment. They put us on big fish fast. We got our limit of big lake trout one salmon in 5 hours. Captain Jamie and First mate Broady we're very knowledgeable and great to spend the morning with. We had an awesome trip.

Half Day Trip (AM) • 4 adultswe had a great time on our 2nd charter with Happy Hookers. the captain and 1st mate were experienced, friendly, helpful and we got our full alottment of trout and some salmon. The lake was choppy, we had some weather come in and the guys were great. We had a terrific time.

Triple species day wuth coho salmon, king salmon and lake trout! Recent winds has the water warming up which has us using 3-7c leadcores, downrigger and my personal favorite, dipsy divers! The fish have been from the surface down to 45ft over water from 110-145ft deep.

Memorial Day Weekend Update 2025

Fishing has been great out if Duluth right now. Mix of coho and lakers makes for a great surface bite. Shallow stickbaits off planer boards, small dipsy divers with mini spoons, and shallow riggers with mini spoons have all be producing well.

Meat Rigging!

Recent east winds from earlier in the werks has brough it warm water theoughout the column, pushing the good temperature zones deep and on the bottom. With this, we have switched iur tactics over to running “meat rigs”. Using smelt rigged up on flies, squids, bucktails or spin n glows behind dodgers, flashers or cowbells on deep riggers and magnum dipsy divers has been putting lots of fish on the deck!

July Summer Bite!

July’s mid summer bite is in full swing! Full blowm copper and leadcore with spoons as well as deep dipsy dovers and mag spoons have been producing quality lake trout, a few coho salmon and even some Lake Superior king salmon. Fish have been hitting in water temps between 46-52 degree water roughly 40-70ft down in the water column.

Leadcore season is here to stay

The transition from the near surface bite with stockbaits looks to be over. We are getting bit on 3 color leadcore all the way to 10 color leadcores amd even 300 light coppers. Spoons and flasher flies are taking fish. Riggers and dipsy are working well in the spread with longer leads off the downrigger balls and longer dipsy leaders. Looking forward to the mid summer bite!

Coho on the menu!

Great PM trip today aboard Aluminauti! This has been a great year for coho! Never have we seen coho sticking around the Twin Ports this late in the season. Offshore winds have kept the water cold amd the fish hungry!
Light leadcores are working as well as shallow dipsys and shallow downriggers, all in the top 35 ft of the water column. Spoons and flasher flies have been producing!
