We caught a 6 LB Bass on the first cast (at one of his favorite spots on the lake that he’s been fishing for years) and we caught nearly a dozen fish total on the morning despite slightly windy conditions.

Scott generously showed me how to use custom worms in the shallow depth high grasses, top water ploppers, crawdads that skim the grass, and chatterbaits that got largemouth bites right away.

He answered all of my many fishing questions happily and I’m a better fisherman now because of him. His bass boat is crazy fast and has top-notch electronics for great visuals of the underlying topography and action. The diverse conversations were a blast and he knows the lake better than anyone having spent his entire life on those waters.

We started at 6 AM and he had his boat already in the water ready to roll with a dozen rods and lures rigged up for me. By 10 AM, I felt like I had already gotten a full day’s worth of action in four different excellent curated locations on the lake.

From the start, Scott was super easy to communicate with! Willing to do what it took to make sure we got out on the water at the right time. We certainly picked the right guide, Scott was experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! We had a great time with him. We learned a lot about Guntersville Lake, the fish and were able to take that knowledge and go successfully fish on our own afterward. You can tell that Scott is passionate about fishing and just enjoys being out there. Like fishing with a friend (but one that actually knows where to go and what to do to get the big bass) Can’t wait to come back and Fish with him again!

Scott was punctual and super accommodating. Wind was blowing and fish were stubborn but with some persistence we all caught fish and had a great time. He was happy to turn around and get the hat!
