  Amazing Day

  3/4 Day Trip–Jetty (AM) on October 7, 2026 • 5 adults • 1 child

  Traveling from out of state. Captain Derrick and Jaydon were the best. (Captain Chop on Tik Tok) We thought we were coming prepared, we missed a text with all the details. Make sure to look for this! They were super patient and walked us through it. We had our saltwater license but did not get the proper tags. Additional tags can make the day more enjoyable! It only took a couple minutes, but we got it done first thing. They talked to us like friends and the day went very well. Traveling from out of state, we had limited space. We caught our tags/bonus tag, hooked a 60 inch shark, got a unique flounder, and some additional black drum. He educated us on the fish in the ocean and answered questions we had about the area. We have been fishing before. we understand the process. We were lucky to have a guide who prioritzies putting us on fish. We recommend this crew and will use them if we ever make it back!

  perfect catch!

  Half Day Trip–Jetty (AM) on September 23, 2026 • 2 adults

  September 23 was my hibby and my anniversary and we wanted to do something different so we booked a fishing trip! We had a blast! Captain Chop knew exactly where to take us to catch fish. He was knowledgeable about Galveston and all things fishing related. He encouraged us to keep going and didn’t laugh when we threw the bait off during a cast. We went on a trip in July out of Padre with a different company and had to pay for live bait plus fuel and our tine included him cleaning our fush, however with In The Zone Fishing all was included in the fee and we were on the water fishing the entire full time we paid for.. Captain Chop cleaned and fileted our fish on his own time after we got back to the marina. He shared lots of his knowledge about fishing all over the wirld with us and was teally just pleasant to be around! We will be back when our sons can cone and enjoy a great day fishing and we wont settle for anyone other that Captsin Chop! Thank you for sych a memorable 8th year Anniversary !

  Was one of the greatest experiences I have had in a long time.

  4 hour trip inshore on October 7, 2026 • 3 adults

  We went out with Captain Travis on the 4 hr inshore trip. He was accommodating and honestly made himself feel like an old friend that we just met back up with again. My son and I caught plenty of fish, it seemed it was was non-stop action between full bites and nibbles. We caught plenty of bait fish, 4 shark with one being over 6ft, 5 keeper black drum, plenty of red drum but fell short of the legal size. Overall if i could give this experience a 10 I would. The smile on my son's face said everything to me. I will 100% book with in the zone again

  Non-stop Action and Great Atmosphere!

  6 hour trip nearshore on September 12, 2026 • 3 adults

  It had always been a dream of my dad's and mine to fish in the Gulf, and we finally had the opportunity to make it happen. Since this was our first time saltwater fishing, I wanted to make sure we chose the right captain. After researching several charters, we decided to book the 6 hour nearshore trip with In The Zone Fishing and Captain Chop. Honestly, they should rename the boat Disneyland because they make dreams come true on there. To say we were impressed would be an understatement. Our original plan was to head into deeper water, but the seas were rough. Captain Chop recommended staying closer to shore, and I'm incredibly glad we took his advice. We came to fish, and he made sure we did exactly that. The action was nonstop from the moment we hooked our first fish! We knew we had made the right decision right away. There were boats all around us, and nobody else seemed to be catching anything. Meanwhile, at one point nearly every rod on our boat was bent over with a fish on the line. And these weren't just any fish, they were massive bull reds. Captain Chop's knowledge and skill were obvious throughout the trip, but what really set him apart was his personality. He and his deckhand Jayden (not sure how to spell his name) created an atmosphere that was just as memorable as the fishing itself. We spent the entire trip laughing, joking, and having a great time, even though my buddy got a little sea sick, he was still laughing. It never felt like a standard guided trip; it felt like spending a day on the water with good friends. Even if we hadn't caught a single fish, that alone would have made the trip worthwhile. Before we even made it back to our vehicle, my dad, my buddy and I were already talking about booking another trip for next year (or sooner), this time for the 12 hour trip. I can't wait to get back on the water with Captain Chop and In The Zone Fishing. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for a trip down in the coast, book with Chop, you will not regret it. Thank you for an incredible experience and for helping create memories that will last a lifetime!

  I booked this trip from Kansas City, as a surprise for my family and made this reservation at like 1am! they accommodated me immediately and they were super responsive! I took my husband, teenage son, and 5year old son on the afternoon sunset 6hr trip and we had the privilege to join Travis! Travis made this trip phenomenal! Besides the fact that his vibe is onnn pointtt, he was super knowledgeable and was so passionate about making our experience the best it could be! that alone was the best! add in all the great fish we caugh and things we saw while out on the water, and we couldnt have ever imagined a better first ever ocean experience!! Got to meet Derrick afterwards, vibes were equally on point!! Travis!! thank you so much! You made this the experience of a lifetime!! If nothing else great happens this trip (I know it will,) we will be returning regardless! for another fishing trip!!
