Luck o' The Irish Fishing Charters was named after Capt. Rich's origins. Born in Tullamore, Ireland in 1979, he decided to come to the US in 2001. He found his new home in Southwest Florida, where he could pursue his deepest passion –fishing. The only thing Capt. Rich enjoys more than pulling in a big Red is helping his guests experience the same excitement! He has made quite the life for himself over the last 19 years, with a beautiful home and family to show for it. He takes great pride in how far he has come and loves to pass that same Irish luck on to his passengers.

Half Day Trip – Back Bay (Morning) • 2 adultsI booked my fishing trip through Fishing Booker. I immediately received a text from Captain Richard. Great guy on the phone wuth a lot if enthusiasm! My Captain was Captain Frank, this Dude is on it! I had a buddy with me, Captain Frank was all over the boat making sure we had bait, fishing the right spot and fishing the correct method. we we're fishing for Sheephead, probably the most difficult fish to to catch I have ever experienced, they are known as a bait thief. These fish fight so hard I had to put the pole under my armpit to get leverage to land them on the boat. I landed 7 fish, doesn't sound like a lot but I was worn out after 4 hours. I ended up with about 8-10 pounds of filets. It was a Great trip and I 100% recommend Luck O' The Irish Fishing Charters! T Reddington, Indianapolis, Indiana

Captain Kenny was outstanding — incredibly experienced and full engages the entire trip! He had us on sheepshead and snapper within 20 minutes of leaving the dock. The equipment was top-notch qnd the trip was very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience. If you’re looking for action, professionalism, and a captain who truly knows the water, LOTI charter is the one to book. Highly recommend!

Half day - Back Bay (Afternoon) • 2 adultsMy boyfriend and I went fishing with Kenny for a fun excursion while visiting Florida. We went in the morning around 8 AM and ended at noon. We caught so many different varieties of fish and had a wonderful time! Captain Kenny was so helpful and was always ready to help us with our bait or help us with any issues we ever had. He was so relaxed and made it a great chill time. We even were joined by two dolphins for around 20 minutes. It was such a cool fishing experience. Highly recommend!

We caught mangrove snapper, amber jack, and sheephead. Our guide was very girl friendly as he is a daughter dad too. Highly Recommend 🤙

The main focus for Fort Myers fishing in October is Redfish. Big ones. They start to spawn in inlets and river mouths at this time of year. Sight fishing on the flats is exceptional, thanks to very low tides. Cobia starts coming south again.

Shark Fishing Season is Upon Us!

It’s that time of year again; time to hunt for sharks on our shark fishing trips! Many people don’t know this, but shark can be tasty eating. Here, in the Gulf of Mexico, sharks such as Great Whites are rare. However, you can easily find a Hammerhead, Bull, Tiger, Lemon, Atlantic Sharp Nose, Black Tip, or Bonnet shark swimming the warm waters of Fort Myers Beach, especially during the summer season. Don’t worry, you normally won’t find them unless you’re chumming the waters with bait, which is exactly what Luck o’ The Irish Fishing Charters is great at doing!
We love this time of year because shark fishing is a great sport. Hooking into one is such a fun feeling, and reeling it in is twice the satisfaction. We offer morning, day and nighttime shark trips at Luck o’ The Irish Fishing Charters. We offer these trips at $650 for 4 hours, and $100 per extra hour with a maximum of four anglers per boat. You’ll get a chance to see the different species of shark that Southwest Florida has to offer in the back bay and near the shoreline of Fort Myers Beach.
Shark fishing is the only style of fishing we use chum for. Some of the bait that we use is Bonita and Pin fish. You’ll have the opportunity to keep your shark for dinner (within legal perimeters) or choose catch-and-release.
