Man, what a day. Booked a shark fishing trip for 4 hours in the afternoon in March for my sons 11 birthday. Knowing it was gonna be a tough to get on the sharks this early in the year, still went after them. Didn’t catch any sharks but Captain Robbie and his crew put us on a mess of Spanish Mackerel. We had to adjust our original booking due to weather concerns and the boat we booked was switched out because mechanical issues but the captain touched base with me several times with updates and adjustments that would fit into our schedule which was much appreciated. Our trip was off season so little cooler conditions affected what could be caught but we all caught several fish and captain was good at adjusting locations when the fish quit biting. We had a great fishing trip! We started catching as soon as we dropped the lines and kept catching the whole time right up until it was time to turn around and head in. We ended up with 4 keepers which turned out to be almost 30 lbs. Of fish. King Mackeral and one Spanish Mackeral. Enough for dinner for 7 for two nights. The fish was fresh, tender and excellent.
