Captain Jason Seman is a local fisherman that grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland fishing, hunting, and has been an active member of the Delmarva's Agricultural Community. From childhood, he has spent countless days on the Chesapeake Bay perfecting his craft and is looking forward to sharing and creating new memories with you. Captain Jason currently holds a USCG 100 Ton Masters License and is a member of the National Association of Charter boat Operators (NACO), the Maryland Charter Boat Association (MCBA), the Upper Bay Captains Association, and is a member of the Caroline County Farm Bureau.

    Happy 90th birthday

    6 Hour Trip – Fall - 12:30 PM • 8 adults • 2 children

    I took 4 generations on a beautiful Saturday in early October. Captain Jason and his mate Curtis worked tirelessly to put us over fish. I got to see my father reel in a rockfish on his 90th birthday and he witnessed his great-granchildren catching their first rockfish. 5 stars. I would recommend this experience for families especially!

    The experience with Captain Jason, his crew, and boat was excellent from beginning to end. He was proactive on calling me to arrive earlier due to weather forecast for a rainy afternoon. Also, when we arrived, the boat, bait, and gear was all prepared and ready to go. They gave myself and my children, the one on one attention that we expected so it was really worth it. You won’t be disappointed! Highest recommendation.

    Captain jason and first mate alex were amazing. i wouldn’t recommend another charter, our trip was a great experience and we caught plenty of fish to take home. Captain jason even stayed in the water to make sure we all got a fish on our line. One of the best charter boats and crew out there cant wait to go again 👍🏼

    We had an excellent time with our friends and specially with my son, it was his first fishing trip and he had a great time! Jason, the captain and Steve, his helper, were very attentive and knowledgeable, they were a big help for my son and I really appreciate it! Even though it wasn't the greatest time for fishing, we still caught nice size fish and the crew definitely made our experience 10 times better! Will definitely book this ship again!

    If you’re considering this fishing charter, just take the bait and book! (See what I did there?) Captain Jason was responsive, patient, knowledgeable and on task. First Mate Curtis was everything, everywhere, all at once. 😊 The boat is beautiful and very well kept; the ride was quick and smooth…well, you know, there was water involved. This was a wonderful Father’s Day activity; we will be back!

As the season starts to cool down, head out to the bay and take advantage of the winter Striper regulations – hook one measuring 19 inches or more, and you can take it home for a tasty treat.

We are experiencing a great Summer on the Chesapeake Bay. If you haven’t experienced one of our fishig trips aboard The Marylander, we still have dates available! Sunshine and great Summer Fishing aboard

On this evening we enjoyed another wonderful trip with another great Crew! The fish were biting and our Crew was ready to reel! Calm seas and great weather helped us reach our limit. Our young anglers even got to see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge up close! We believe that the month of July & August will be great for trolling and light tackle. Preparation for Spring!

As we turn the page on another month in the calendar, March brings us new hope that spring will soon arrive, and an awakening of anglers will soon venture out of months of hibernation on the Chesapeake Bay. For those of us that are dedicated anglers, we have kept our sanity by pursuing Chesapeake Bay pan fish (Yellow & White Perch) this winter during unusually seasonable temperatures. Though, the migration and spawning of these fish are coming to a finally in our local rivers in Creeks this month. Chain Pickerel, Crappie, and Hickory Shad (or Poor Man’s Tarpon) are a fan favorite to pursue after the migration of Perch. These fish can be targeted in local creeks by using small shad darts dressed with small twister tails, small spoons mimicking flashes of minnows, or with small flies. The technique and lure presentation is similar to this past months Perch fishing and provide an abundance of activity if executed properly. For the remainder of March, our focus turns to Preparation of our Vessel, in the mist of the Super Bowl of the Chesapeake Bay, the Opening of Striped Bass Season. Each sheet of sandpaper used, layer of paint applied, and upgrade to mechanism from year prior, is all for the betterment of angler experience and safety aboard The Marylander. Our motivation is to create a memorable experience that was better than the last and our preparation for success is relentless during the month of March. It is our hope that the future season is plentiful and the new changes in regulations announced create positive change to our fishery. Not only are we as anglers in a state of preparation, it is with great optimism that the changes to our regulations this past off season will prepare us for future success on the Chesapeake Bay.
