I had a fantastic day on the beach with Captain Gary! He was incredibly knowledgable about surf fishing and the local beaches and provided an amazing learning experience. I had no fishing experiencing prior to this and now I feel more than ready to hit the beach on my own. We covered everything from reading the beach, what kind of rods and tackle to use, bait, casting, knots, and much more! I ended up catching my first fish too! Whether you’re a novice looking to get started or an experienced fisherman who wants to up your game, I can’t recommend a day with Captain Gary enough.

My son and I had an incredible experience with Gary from Coastal Life Outfitters! We went surf fishing at Fort Fisher Park, and it was nothing short of amazing. Gary’s expertise and passion for fishing were evident from the start, making the entire trip educational and fun, especially for my 10-year-old son.

Gary was incredibly patient, teaching us the best techniques and providing all the necessary gear. His knowledge of the area and fishing spots ensured we had a successful day, catching a number of fish which thrilled my son and Gary’s enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable.

The setting at Fort Fisher Park was beautiful, and Gary’s friendly demeanor made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the trip. It was clear that he loves what he does and genuinely cares about providing a top-notch experience for his clients.

When you can catch your target fish it’s a great day! Gary freely shared so much information and I’m glad I jotted down his pointers. He showed us a couple of knots that we will practice and use. Some of the details he shared about bait and bait placement were eye opening. Gary has an extensive knowledge of fishing in the surf and years of experience. He’s a great teacher and I’m glad we spent the morning with him. We caught fish, laughed, and learned. You can’t beat that.

We had a great day on the beach!  Gary met us at Kure beach and we went in his four wheel drive vehicle onto the driving beach at Fort Fisher.  He is very knowledgeable about surf fishing and we caught small sharks and nice whiting/sea mullet!  My 14 year old son was with us and Gary was very patient with him and taught him some great surf fishing skills.  If you have kids old enough to cast a surf rod, I highly recommend a surf fishing trip with Gary!  I will will be back for more!

Gary was very knowledgeable and helpful. He knows his stuff. We felt comfortable asking him any fishing question we had. His equipment was top notch and he provided everything. From baits, hooks, sinkers, reels and rods, to showing us where and why to fish in what area, he knew it all. Super nice and a joy to spend the morning with.
