Captain Steve grew up in Indiana and had a love of all things outdoors from a young age. He entered his first tournament at the age of 9. He continued competitive tournament fishing in his hometown lakes and ranked nationally in the BFL All American. He then progressed and moved on to the Everstart and the FLW Series divisions. Always wanting to share his love of fishing, nature, and wildlife with others, he pursued a career as a licensed captain and is now certified through the U.S. Coast Guard and also carries a Sea Tow endorsement. Captain Steve has continued his career as a full-time fishing captain. In his free time, he can still be found on the water with his sons and daughter enjoying the great outdoors. Captain Brent has been blessed to have fished in various Bass fishing clubs, fishing tournaments, and charity events over the past 27 years, helping him and gaining guide experience. Now a full-time fishing guide, he enjoyed fishing with his clients!

This was the very first time my husband, our child, and I had ever been fishing in Florida, and Captain Steve made it an unforgettable adventure. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, making us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped on the boat. Thanks to his expertise, we caught so many fish and had an absolute blast! He took the time to teach us, celebrate every catch, and made sure our son had an experience he’ll remember for years to come. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing charter with a captain who truly cares about his guests, we can’t recommend Captain Steve enough. Half Day Trip – 4hrs • 3 adults • 1 childGreat guide!!!! Family fishing trip was a success!!! Knowledge and equipment to find the fish and make sure we caught them!!! When heat caused the fish to go deeper he still knew where to find them! He was prompt with boat in the water ready to leave early! Professional and quick to bait and release hooks. Made everything about us enjoying our day even down to taking the pics of our catches and sending them after the trip. It was wonderful to disconnect and not try to juggle our phones to have those memories and that he thought about all the little details! Live bait was optional and called the day before to ask if we wanted it and it was in the boat ready to go. We will def be booking again soon! So much fun

Half Day Trip – 4hrs • 3 adultsWe had an amazing experience fishing on Lake Toho with Galen as our guide! Even though the wind and weather unexpectedly took a turn, he never let it affect the energy of the trip. He stayed positive, adjusted our approach, and still made sure we had a great time out on the water. One of us was a beginner, we truly appreciated how patient and encouraging he was. He took the time to explain techniques clearly and made us feel comfortable and confident. He was just as understanding and accommodating with our whole group, which made the experience even more enjoyable. 2 Hour Trip – Splash & Go • 2 adultsWe booked a 2.5-hour fishing trip, and the day before, Captain Devin contacted us to let us know the meeting point and offer us live bait. He recommended it, and we decided to buy it. Since we are relatively new to fishing, we weren't sure what to expect, but Captain Devin made sure we felt safe the whole time. He knew the area well and knew exactly where to find the fish. And the live bait was the best decision. We tried without it at first, but not a single fish wanted to bite. With live bait, we caught lots of bass and even a pike. Devin's patience and helpfulness made learning the basics an enjoyable experience for us. He brought all the equipment and was very helpful in reeling in the catch. We had a great time on the water, caught lots of fish, which were released after a nice photo with us! This was one of the highlights of our vacation! From start to finish, the entire experience with our captain was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better day or a better guide. If you're looking for a truly enjoyable fishing trip, this is the place to be. We highly recommend this trip and are already looking forward to our next one!

Trip Summary
Spring has sprung, and so has the bite on Orlando’s Lake Toho. Most cold fronts are long gone, the temps are becoming steadier, and the fish are gorging themselves now after the spawn, officially making it post-spawn. The bass are beginning to school and chase bait to the surface in certain areas, and 20-30 fish days are becoming common!
The best bite on our charters has been on shiners, especially if you’re looking for bigger bass. But artificial intelligence has also been productive. Flukes, jerkbaits, senkos, speedworms, and topwaters in the areas the bass have been schooling have all been working well.
As we move into summer, the bass have mostly moved offshore to submerged grass clumps. Good hydrilla, peppergrass, and eel grass are all over the lake. Once you’re over top of one of these grass flats, just get to fishing. Nearly all of these areas throughout Toho are holding bass right now, and keep your eyes peeled, as bass have been coming up to school occasionally throughout the lake as well.
Lake Toho is setting up extremely well for the rest of the year, and as the grass continues to grow throughout the summer, it should only get better.

The Real Lake Toho Report

It's crazy what some of the other services are claiming about Lake Toho. We are Lake Toho Guides, and we fish in the lake every day of the year. Here are some actual facts: The bass fishing on Lake Toho this summer is currently very consistent.
Right now, we have more hydrilla on the lake than ever before, and the invasive grass is fantastic for bass fishing. While regular boaters don't enjoy it, it's not a problem for regular boaters.
The water, which typically has an algae bloom at this time of year, is the cleanest we have seen during the summer, and the bass are loving it. We are averaging an incredible 25+ bass a day under normal conditions. The two and four-hour trips are great to get out early or late and rip some lip.
We're catching fish around hydrilla and peppergrass, throwing chatter baits, spinnerbaits, speed worms, and even hollow-body frogs around the thicker hydrilla

Spring bass fishing on Lake Toho here in Kissimmee, Florida, is productive for catching great numbers of trophy bass. The nonstop action of bass fishing on Lake Toho at this time of year is due to the post-spawn, and the bass is feeding like crazy, which makes the bass fishing very stable.
Lake Toho Guides has been in operation since the early 1960s. Now, it is four generations deep in experience and holds every record on Lake Toho, including the biggest bass and the most over 10 lbs
.
Captain John Leech caught the 97 bass over 10lbs on Lake Toho, with no one in a close 2nd.
If you like to throw artificial lures, this is the time of year. Springtime is what we consider the best time of year for fishing artificials on Lake Toho. It is not uncommon for Lake Toho Guides to catch a five-bass limit weighing over 35 pounds on artificials at this time of year.
2024 has been one of the best years that we have seen for catching trophy-sized Lake Toho Florida bass in a very long time. As we move into the spring months, this type of fishing will continue, and the outlook for this spring may be the best that we have seen yet for catching a Lake Toho trophy.
