I dropped my first line in the water and immediately had a halibut on the boat.  We were on fish every spot we put lines in at.

I have fished in alaska for 26 years and have been out on over 100 charters in this time and have a general idea of the fishing areas. I paid for a private charter which is $2500 and up graded to the trophy halibut charter for $3000 to travel further for bigger fish and possible ling cod and rock fish. We showed up in the morning and were told we wouldn’t be able to go south due to weather which happens. We then fished the tide change in the inlet no more than a 1.5 hours off shore could still see the bluffs going into Homer. We did about 3 hours of halibut fishing. We also trolled the same general area for salmon to kill time to wait for the tide change. We also didn’t have a deck hand on the boat and were asked to help out and bait hooks, gaff fish, and do other stuff the deck hand would have done. All the other charters I have been on adjust the price back to the appropriate trip we took, this company would not after I had several conversations with them.They first said if I had fun I should pay, then said they did do the trophy halibut charter because we could have caught a large fish.Could have got this same trip out of Anchor Point for roughly $2000. Go with a more honest company!!
