I've been fishing since I was 4 years old and lived on an island in Puget Sound (near Seattle, WA). Throughout my life, I've fished around the world, primarily for big game (Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish, and Tuna). Although I love catching big fish, being out on the water is my passion.

    Half day on Wahooson

    12 Hour Trip – Offshore

    Booked a half day on the Wahooson with Pat Wade as captain. Was told to show up a little early as the fish were far and we needed to make a long run to the good water. We loaded up on premium sardine and headed offshore 45 miles in search of Dorado, they were in serious numbers at the time. We stopped on a kelp paddy around 6:30am and landed a couple fish after losing a few. We moved to look for another paddy and that’s when we found the “magic one”. It was absolutely LOADED! We all had fun for a few hours hooking and landing very nice quality dorado. Every fish that hit the deck was spiked, bled, and wired “Ike Jime”. We were done by 11am and headed back the barn early. Best half day of my life! Can’t say enough about my experience on the Wahooson with Pat. He truly cares about having a good time and especially fish quality. The fish I took home was some of the best quality fish of my life. I’d recommend this charter to anyone looking to fish in style with speed and comfort. If anyone has ever heard about Freeman boats, they are everything they are hyped up to be and more.

    Best full day trip with Captain Pat!!!

    12 Hour Trip – Offshore

    This is by far the best BFT trip I have ever been on! Captain Pat knows all the ins and outs of fishing these monster bluefin. He had the top of line tackle so when I was pulling in this 100#+ giant I had all the confidence that my tackle would not fail. Not only is Captain Pat funny, polite and very knowledgeable about fishing, his boat is built for slaying these big boys. It’s fast and comfortable with plenty of space to walk around and fish. I will be booking again in the very near future!

    Full day bluefin trip

    12 Hour Trip – Offshore

    Booked a trip with captain Pat on the wahooson last October to take some of the company guys out. Could not have went any better, beautiful boat, knowledgeable captain with all of the assistance we needed. Even with spotty fishing reports Pat was able to get everyone on the boat a solid fish. Crew went home happy with a cooler of fresh fish. Highly recommend fishin this boat!!

    Full day charter with Capt. Pat

    12 Hour Trip – Offshore

    Great experience with Capt. Pat on our full day trip targeting bluefin. Pat was able to locate many schools of tuna and set us up for success on the Wahooson. This boat is incredible and can get you from spot to spot very quickly. Also, the Wahooson is super spacious so you’ll feel especially comfortable on this boat. I can’t wait for our next trip! Tight lines!

    One day trip on Wahooson To Santa Barbra Island

    10 Hour Trip – Cod Fishing

    Had an amazing one day trip to Santa Barbra Island. The Freeman being the star of the show! What a bad ass boat! Incredible to get to SBI that fast in so much comfort. Captain Pat and Alec are both on point in every aspect. We wanted some quick seabass and thats exactly what we got! We were hooked up 3 hours after boarding and back home after lunch.

What's biting with Wahooson Charters in Huntington Beach

Peak season is over, but you can still have a great time with a lot of fish. Yellowtail Amberjack are still here in droves, and so are Yellowfin Tuna.

The fishing over the last couple weeks has been as good as it gets! The fish are only getting bigger each week and on our most recent trip we had 2 fish at 170 lbs and 2 fish at 130 lbs. That’s a lot of sushi! Fishing typically is very good well into October so hurry up and book as our availability is getting slim before the end of the season!

We found some yellowfin tuna and amongst them was a large Mako shark! What an incredible day amongst mother nature and the pacific ocean! Unfortunately the mako did get a hold of one of the tuna but we were able to salvage most of it for olthe client.

Brian wanted his boys to catch a big fish and we delivered! After not doing too hot on a coulke trios in Hawaii he wanted to give his boys another ahot before school started. We were able to put them on this 130 lb Bluefin. What a great wrap up for their summer before school starts!

Had a great day with a corporate client taking customers out fishing. Had whales and tuna eating the same schools of anchovies. We landed 3 giant bluefin. Needless to say the entire group had a blast!

Had a great day today! Left the dock at 9:30 and before we even got to our prosoective location we found huge schools of tuna! Caught 5 tuna on the popper (30 lb fish) and then sent out the kite and caught a couple jumbos! (160 lb and 180 lb). Exceptional day today!!
