There’s a fish with your name on it offshore of Huntington Beach and Wahooson Charters will help you catch it! Your guide for the day is Captain Pat, bringing aboard years of professional experience.

We will be targeting Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Swordfish, White Seabass, Halibut, Yellowtail, Calico Bass, Pacific Barracuda, Dorado, and more depending on conditions. During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, or drifting with live bait. Capt. Pat also offers kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing (bring your own gear).

If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard!  Children must wear life vests and as the charter doesn’t carry children’s life vests, please bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks and drinks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!

You’ll be fishing from a 37’ Freeman Catamaran that can carry up to 6 passengers. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You will be traveling anywhere from 25 miles to 100 miles offshore to the fishing grounds. Depending on conditions you will travel at 40-50 kts!

You’ll find top-of-the-line Shimano reels on board. Live bait is an option, where you may stop at the bait barge to pick some up.

A First Mate/Deckhand will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Fishing licenses are required for everyone. It’s always wise to bring bottled water, sunscreen and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now’s the time to experience fishing in Huntington Beach for yourself, with Wahooson Charters!

I've been fishing since I was 4 years old and lived on an island in Puget Sound (near Seattle, WA). Throughout my life, I've fished around the world, primarily for big game (Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish, and Tuna). Although I love catching big fish, being out on the water is my passion.
