We had the absolute best time on our family fishing trip this past Monday out of Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. We went out on Sweet Dreams with Captain Carlos and his amazing crew, Mario and Darren, and from start to finish, the experience was exceptional.

The crew was professional, warm, and so much fun. Captain Carlos knew exactly where to take us, and thanks to their skill and effort, we brought in a bunch of yellowfin tuna and Spanish mackerel! Everyone in our family—from teens to adults—was completely engaged and had an unforgettable time reeling them in.

The boat was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making it perfect for a full day out on the water. We’ve been enjoying the fruits of our trip all week—tuna ceviche, grilled steaks, tacos, and sashimi. Truly an experience we’ll never forget.

Captain Carlos and first mate Mario are top notch. Sweet Dreams is a really good boat for a group of 4-6 people. I took my kids and father-in-law and I am glad to have gone with Sweet Dreams and would choose them again. The guys were great to work with - it was a slower day but we caught Tuna, Triple Tail, and some smaller fish.

We fished with Captain Johan and his crew yesterday and had an unbelievable trip. We caught 4 sailfish and two yellowfin tuna over fifty pounds. We also had several other shots at fish. The boat and equipment were first rate. The captain and crew were very professional and didn’t miss a trick. We had fresh fruit, cold drinks, a real lunch and even fresh tuna ceviche on our way in.  I’ve fished Costa Rica for 30 years and these guys are as good as it gets.

We caught 4 quality sailfish all estimated over 100 lbs.  Captain used 2 approaches which is always good.  Tried the standard trolling and also went and caught Bonita’s and tried those and caught over 120 lb sailfish. Had many raises but some got away. Lunch was amazing and lots of fresh fruit. Very clean boat and captain and mate worked hard all day and got to the fishing spot early and we were last ones back in.
