We had a fantastic trip with Zac. His knowledge of Lake Placid and fishing more generally was immediately apparent as soon as we stepped on the boat. I planned a trip up to the Lake Placid area as a surprise for my Boyfriends Birthday. Zac is one of the coolest people we’ve ever met. Not only was he a great teacher of fly fishing, he was also very educated about the area in general and had lots of fun stories to tell. We are already planning a trip back in May! Captain Zac was great! We went to LP in July so the water is a bit warm to catch the big fish and trout but he made this experience absolutely wonderful! He taught us about different rigs, lines and techniques. He gave us a great history lesson about the area and its lakes. He was so engaging and provided an exceptional experience. He’s a true native and loves what he does! We highly recommend chartering through him!

This trip offered a good blend of catch and release fishing along with getting to know the history and ecology of the lake. Captain Zach was both flexible and knowledgeable. It was a great trip for us as adults with limited fishing experience and I think Zach would be amazing for a family with kids.

My two sons and I fished with Zac.  You won’t find a guide who is more knowledgeable or caring about the Lake Placid area fisheries.  We had a terrific time spending the morning with Zac, and caught plenty of fish.  Highly recommend Zac, super guide and just all around great guy!
