Skylar was a great Capitan! Put us on the fish and made for a great fishing trip! His boat is definitely comfortable and roomy. Provided us with the right fishing tackle for our trip as well as a stocked cooler of drinks to keep us hydrated! This was my first bay trip and I couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable time! Me, my 2 sons and my son- in-law all caught several fish, finishing the trip with a total of 23 keepers and over 50 total fish caught, I would highly recommend Skylar for a great fishing trip! He is super friendly and knowledgeable of all things in the area! Thank you for great day in the bay!

We had a great day! Skylar was fantastic!  Great personality.  Fishing was a little slow but Skylar tried many spots.  We caught some fish for a meal.  He extended our trip by a long shot.  Being from Minnesota is was a great day on the water.  The pontoon was super comfy and it was nice we could bring snacks and food.  Even though dolphins are not good for fishing we saw many and even a turtle.  Skylar has patience of a saint and could rig and detangle lines in seconds.  I’d recommend this trip if you want a chill experience and personalized trip.

Skylar Wilhite was an awesome fish guide and boat captain. He worked hard to keep us all able to fish and sharing pointers and tips. He took us to many different areas to try and reel in some fish and stayed way beyond the time the tour was over so we could try and find more fish to catch. Skylar was pleasant and knowledgeable. This was our first charter, and with two kids we weren’t sure what to expect. Captain Skylar explained to us how he takes a different approach than the average charter. He explained that he likes to target the seasonal fish, which happened to be Spanish mackerel. We left the bay and found the fish quickly. Skylar was great with the kids and worked his tail off putting us on fish. We could have caught many more than we did, except my son fought, and landed a king mackerel. The fight lasted Probably ten minutes, while Skylar patiently helped and explained calmly to my 14 year old son how to land the fish without breaking the line. Once we caught a glimpse of the fish we all got excited praying and hoping to get it in the boat. The fish would get close and then strip the line out running for a bit, and all the while Skylar was explaining exactly what to do to not loose the fish. We had to get that big boy on ice. We had a great time and would recommend highly to anyone (especially with families) to give south water charters a shot.

Captain Skylar gave us such a good experience the first time, we came back for more. My grandkids had a wonderful time. Captain Skylar is a patient teacher with the fundamentals of fishing, but also shared his knowledge of the environment, fish habits, etc. Of course when the youngest hooked a huge red drum and the oldest reeled it in, the day couldn’t have been better.
