Born and raised on Cape Cod, Captain Andrew Popovich has roughly a decade of experience fishing the pristine waters of Cape Cod Bay, primarily out of the beautiful Sesuit Harbor. Many of his earlier summers were spent as a deckhand on several boats, learning the basics as well as developing his own specific craft and skill set from quite a few of the local captains. More recent years have been spent commercially fishing and running trips with friends and family. Extremely successful past seasons led Captain Andrew to take night courses while finishing up school to obtain his USCG-certified Six-Pack captain's license. His prior knowledge combined with his youth and determination allow you to set sail with the 'young guns' of the fleet and make memories that will last a lifetime. With many successful seasons under his belt, Captain Andrew feels more than prepared to offer captivating trips for many seasons to come!

6 Hour Trip • 4 adultsWe’ve made this fishing trip an annual tradition, and this year’s trip with my son was especially meaningful as we did it before dropping him off for college. We always have a few charter options to choose from, and we were so lucky to have Andrew as our captain. Andrew was incredibly knowledgeable, smart, patient, and reassuring throughout the entire trip. Even with the weather looking a little uncertain in the morning, he put us at ease and made sure we felt confident and comfortable from start to finish. (It turned out to be a perfect weather after all!) And the fishing was fantastic! We caught so many fish and had an absolute blast! It was a memorable trip and a great way to spend some quality time together before this next chapter. We would absolutely book with Andrew again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great fishing experience!

4 Hour Trip • 1 adultBooked a four-hour trip with Capt. Andrew aboard the Showtime Sportfisher. Took off at 7 a.m. just after some weather moved through. Headed E., not too far off the beach, toward the Canal. The early part of the trip was glassy smooth, but the fish were hiding. Every now and then they'd pop up on the side scan sonar, just to the left or right of the boat, but we'd be just far enough away to not be on top of them. Capt. would circle back, find and adjust his line to compensate for drift, and head back to where he marked the fish, but by then they'd be "ghosts." Repeated this process for the first two hours of the trip. Capt. constantly called and radioed other charters who all help each other find fish for their guests. Their process works. We started running over huge 'piles' of fish on the sonar, run to the rods and drop the jigs, or squid lures, depending on the depth of the fish. The hard work paid off. We hooked up two fairly quickly, and my first fish was a 'keeper,' at 30" on the nose. After breaking the curse, we quickly hooked four more, including a 40" monster that Capt. Andrew said was going to make it to his website. If you want to catch fish, book this guy next summer.

5 Hour Trip • 2 adultsMy teenage son and I both agree that our trip with Showtime Fishing and Captain Andrew was nothing short of incredible! As soon as we boarded, Captain Andrew took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure we understood the equipment, techniques, and what to expect throughout the day. We knew we made the right choice before we even put a line in the water! The fishing action was unbelievable. We had our limit of stripers within the first three minutes of fishing, which set the tone for an unforgettable day! By the end of the trip, we had landed 21 stripers (one that was 40”) and even had the thrill of hooking onto a great white shark, something we will never forget! I do want to mention the one thing that stood out the most was Captain Andrew's ability to put us right on the fish. While other anglers in the area were struggling to get consistent action, we were catching fish all around them. His experience and understanding of the water made all the difference for us. It is also important for you to know that Captain Andrew proved age is just a number when it comes to fishing! His energy, enthusiasm, and expertise were evident throughout the entire trip, and he worked hard from start to finish to make sure we had the best possible experience. If you're looking for a charter captain who is knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and knows exactly where to find the fish, I highly recommend Showtime Fishing. We couldn't have asked for a better day on the water and are already looking forward to booking our next trip! When you do book, I highly recommend the hand jigging for stripers…that was a blast! 4 Hour Trip • 6 adultsI'm an avid fisherman, grew up in Boston fishing until I left in my 20's to the Midwest where I've fished for King Salmon, Coho, walleye . I've fished with many Captains in the waters of the Gulf and I have to say the day with Captain Andrew was one of the Best ever. I took my three grandson's , out for a day of Striper fishing. Captain Andrew consistently had us on fish, he was great with the boy's , always explaining the methods, what they were seeing on the graphs, details of the local fisheries. We boated 14 Stripers, one 41", lost 7 while fighting them and had three nice Slot Keepers that fed the gang that night. An Awesome day on the water. I highly recommend Captain Andrew Popovitch, Showtime Charters.

4 Hour Trip - 12:00 PM • 4 adults • 2 childrenWe had a blast with Captain Andrew. Took my father in law & my kids for his birthday & all of our arms are sore from all the reeling!! My kids are finally old enough to do these trips & we have been on quite a few but this was by far the best one we have been on together yet! Captain Andrew was extremely knowledgeable, helpful throughout the trip & was great with the kids. We took a noon trip for 4 hours & we had action pretty much the entire time. Will definitely plan on booking with Showtime Sportfishing again in the future!! Highly recommended!!!!

Opening Weekend 2026!

The memorial day weekend was one to remeber. Less than poor weather brought the larger Striped Bass out of their winter haunts and into our fishing grounds. Many of the fish went above 35”, with the largest of the weekend at 43”! While keeper Stripers were harder to find, the Winter Flounder absolutely made up for this with a steady bite making for great tablefare. A wonderful way to kick off the season with only improving conditions from here!

Too Big!

"Too big!" was the theme this week with the vast majority of bass being over-slot sized. Fish in the mid 30 inch range were considered common while the big ones pushed low to mid 40's. While the slot-sized fish weren't always as prevalent due to the bigger bass, flounder fishing remained wide open for those looking to go home with dinner. Another great week with no signs of slowing!

First Day Back!

After a long break in period of our brand new twin **hidden content**HP Yamaha motors, we finally snuck out to do some fishing with a minor break in the weather! This crew got it done, immediately finding several Stripers up to 45” with nonstop topwater action all afternoon. Many of the more “mediocre” fish of the trip were in the high 30” to low 40” range, with some slot fish mixed in to bring home for dinner. While the weather isn’t ideal for our season kickoff, the fishing is nothing short of unreal. For those who don’t mind a few bumps along the way, now is the time!

7/5 Limits!

With the Striper season now in full swing, we are seeing very steady fishing and lots of fish to take home! Todays afternoon crew absolutely crushed it, boating 4 keepers in the first half hour, and finding the last one shortly after. Throwing back keepers became the norm as fish continuted to come over the rail. Eventually finding some that were too big to keep, right around 38 inches, rounded off a fantastic day with Showtime Sportfishing. Book now and get in on the action!

7/11 Foul Weather Fun!

Another day of stiff wind lead to the common question, “is it worth it?”. Come to find out, it was very much worth it. After a 25 minute ride through less than ideal conditions, we set up and quickly began marking fish. We fired the rods out and instantly started taking the extra large variety of Striped Bass 2 at a time. The constant action remained this way, with the common fish being between 36 and 38 inches, and the larger size being upwards of 45 and 46 inches, tipping the scale at 35-40lbs. Even the kids got in on the action, catching multiple 40+ inch fish on their own! Another legendary day in the books with many stories to bring home, as well as dinner after finding a few smaller fish. The big ones won’t be here forever! Lights Out!

With yet another crew opting to hunt bigger game, we set out on the hunt for the larger variety of striped bass. We set out making a bit of a further run than usual, but it paid off bigtime. Within 30 minutes of setting up, we had a school of massive Striped Bass dialed in to the tee. The next three and a half hours were spent catching slob sized Stripers, landing 8 fish over 35 inches and 20lbs, 4 fish in the 40 inch range weighing roughly 25-30lbs, and 3 fish over 45 inches in the mid 30lb range. While these fish had to go back according to the slot size, we manged to grab a few fish for dinner before heading back to the dock. Truly a once in a lifetime trip with some of the best fishing I have personally seen in years. Book now for your shot at a trip like this one!
