While we were in Quepos/Manuel Antonio we went out not only once with Jackpot but were so impressed that we went back out again a few days later! We fished inshore and caught several Rooster fish, one nearing 50lb’s and a Big Eyed Jack. We also fished offshore ranging anywhere from 25-30 miles offshore and caught Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish! Owner Benn Gilmour and captain Manuel know the waters and provide an amazing experience. The fishing was top notch and the service was second to none. The tuna was prepared on the boat sashimi style with soy and wasabi and a great lunch was provided on top of that. You can tell that Benn and crew take a real interest in showing you the fish and a good time. Fishing again with Jackpot Sport Fishing-Costa Rica is at the top of our list, don’t pass up the opportunity to spend the day with a first class crew!

We had an incredible trip out to sea with Benn and his team.  Of course having some great catches ranging from tuna to marlin and sailfish made the trip fun but so too did the what and dolphin sightings.  I’m not a pro fisherman but it was clear Benn and his team knew exactly what they were doing and how to find the fish.  The boat was a beauty and a joy to ride out on.  The tuna we caught were well dressed and made a wonderful dinner that evening.  It’s the small touches that make a trip unique and fun and Benn knows how to do it right.  The photos and videos he shared with us after the trip will be an amazing way to remember and re-live the adventure.  If you plan to spend time in Quepos and want to fish, I highly recommend Jackpot Sport Fishing.  When you visit, tell Benn that Kenneth & Fernando say hi!

Meet boat owner Ben at marina while looking at the boats in the harbor and ask if he was a charter boat captain and was willing to go out on short notice and he agreed. Booked private charter with brother to go trolling for sailfish and marlin on the Good Day. Ben’s a true mariner he actual goes out on the boat with you and likes his job. He has a professional crew that can handle themselves well at sea. We had a great start to the day with sunshine and calm seas on our way out to the grounds. Half way out threw out some lines and ended up catching tuna in large school surrounded by dolphins while trolling around the reef we hooked into a sailfish that gave one hell a fight before landing it. Ben is a very energetic guy that likes to take lots of pictures and videos of each trip. He has all the equipment and fishing gear needed to go out, just show up and be ready to have some real fun.

We reserved our boat by internet and telephone to match our Windstar cruise timing. It came off without a hitch. My wife and I caught fish all day, the last one a sailfish and reason I came. We were able to provide the Windstar and it’s 150 passengers with enough tuna and Mahi Mahi for several fabulous meals. If you are looking experience, integrity, and talent, Jackpot will mean a successful day of Costa Rica fishing.

Ben and his crew were very knowledgeable and patient with our skill level.  We booked a full day trip, the crew put us on fish straight away.  They took great care of us, making sure we had plenty to eat and drink all day. We reeled in so many fish that our arms are sore. Ben was kind enough to write down some great places to visit while we are here.  We can’t wait to come back to Jackpot Sport fishing next year.
