This last week was full of action. The crappie bite was consistent and will be getting better once the water temps drop. All of my clients were able to take home crappie for dinner and the freezer. The afternoon bass bite has been fun and full of nearly non stop action. The afternoon sun has had a direct affect on the bite in relation to the way it moves the shad around. We have been lucky enough to find the bass easily this week. This pattern should persist through the coming weeks.

The crappie bite here on Lake Guntersville has certainly turned on. We have been targeting them on anything from docks to creek channels to brush piles. The cooler weather amd water temps has the fish on the move and willing to eat.

The current has significantly increased on the TVA system. This increase in water flow through Lake Guntersville has turned the bite on big time! I hit the flooded portions of the river and caught nearly 60 bass on tuesday before my arm gave out. It was fun power fishing in the muddy water.

Lake Guntersville Fall crappie fishing is here! I scouted a little bit yesterday. The wind, waves and current left over from the hurricane made it hard to get on a spot. I never found any giants but found enough eater sized fish for a nice dinner. Jason Miller Guide Service

The high Alabama sun and extreme heat had them hitting a frog for me in the middle of the day lately. The fish have been hiding in the darkest shade they can with water temps as high as 91 in some places.

My client and I spent two days cranking on some stumps in about 14 ft of water. Bump the stump and a bite would follow. When that bite slowed, we went to the grass lines and started throwing green pumpkin plastics. We also caught some schoolers busting shad on the surface with the double fluke rig.
