- Background
- I began fishing our local waters with my first boat at age 13 mainly during the summer months and weekends, while at my family's beach house on Ocean Isle Beach NC. Continuing to fish these waters through my college years at UNC-Wilmington I moved back to my birthplace in Fayetteville, NC to work in the family business but still fishing weekends. My wife and I moved to Carolina Beach, NC where I began commercial fishing staying out as many as 6 days per trip. I decided to move into the charter industry full time in 2003 out of Carolina Beach,NC and fishing the Mercury Offshore Tournament Trail from Ocracoke NC to Biloxi MS. Leukemia put a stop to that for a few years but did return to the waters here where my heart is. I currently live in Myrtle Beach, and keep my new boat in dry storage in N̈.Myrtle Beach. I pick my customers up at the local landing, after our trip we go to my marina to clean our catch and return to the landing. I have to work it out this way because my boat is kept at a private resort for members. It works just fine
- Techniques
- I prefer to troll baits for king mackerl as well as trolling for mahi and tuna offshore but can also provide offshore bottom fishing.
