Background
My grandfather was the legendary Abe Chavez who pioneered fly fishing on the San Juan river in New Mexico. My family has been in the fishing industry for over 60 years. I grew up fly fishing the San Juan and know the river intimately. I have over 25 years experience personally fishing to these trout on this river.
Techniques
Generally nymph fishing is the most reliable technique with some good opportunities to fish dry flys in between. A variety of streamer patterns also effectively catch fish.
