My family of 5 including 3 young adult sons had a spectacular time with Capt Erik.  He was clear in rules of safety before we got under way and was very accommodating with teaching us how to use the equipment to ensure we had a successful trip.  We caught 8 fish between the 5 of us thanks to Capt Erik’s knowledge and expertise on knowing where the fish were.  I would definitely recommend booking a charter with GQ.

Excellent charter. Captain Eric is outstanding. His boat, equipment and knowledge are first rate. He had us catching fish within minutes of launching. It was absolutely crazy at times, with fish breaking the surface everywhere. We landed 8 large stripers; lost about the same number; and arms were tired at the end. Seeing the bald eagles was another plus. Thanks, Captain Eric for a great experience!

My family and I enjoyed a great day with Captain Eric on the water! We went out in mid June looking for Stripers but they had not migrated up yet. However, we had a blast catching cod, pollocks , and whiting.  We pulled some lobster traps and had fun exploring all the creatures that showed up in those! We even saw a few seals!  Awesome day! Capt Eric is a knowledgeable and experienced guide who knows the area well and put us on fish right away. He explained how the tides govern the fishing in that area (versus currents) and how the ecosystem functions as the tides cycle in and out everyday. Since most of my experience fishing is in freshwater, I found this insight fascinating. Besides putting 5 nice stripers in the boat we had that many on the line that we lost. Captain Eric was a great guide. He kept my kids interested and engaged. We thought we were just going for stripers but we started out catching mackerel (bait fish for the striped bass) and the kids had a blast catching 3 or 4 at a time. Then we hit a few spots, had some jump off but ended up with a keeper. Also stopped by a few of the captains lobster baskets to catch a few keeper lobsters.
