The fish in these waters include Striped Bass, Haddock, Cod, Blue Shark, Mako Shark, Porbeagle Shark, Thresher Shark, Pollock, Bluefish, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 28’ Hydra-Sports center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

8 Hour Trip – Sharks
8 hr Shark Fishing Trip
We had an incredible experience on our recent 8-hour shark fishing charter! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Captain Erik was fantastic, laid back, friendly, polite, and so easy to talk to. He made everyone feel welcome and at ease. The boat itself was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked with snacks and drinks, which was such a nice touch. We caught both fish and shark, which made the day even more exciting. It was a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. This trip was such a memorable experience for our whole family, we’re already talking about booking again next year. 4hr Striper trip evening
Best charter in southern Maine
I’ve tried several different charters from Casco bay to Saco, Capt. Eric and GQ charters were the best by far. He is extremely knowledgeable about the local waters, got us out fishing right away, and supplied us with all the information we needed to have a great day. He’s also just a blast to talk to. He kept us on the fish all day, netting 8 stripers including 4 oversized, 2 keepers and even one 42” cow. There was never a dull moment, and we fished basically every second of the four hour trip. I can’t recommend this charter enough.

4 Hour Trip – Stripers (PM)
First fishing trip for my Grandson.
My Grandson really wanted to go striper fishing for his 12th birthday. We decided to go with GQ charters again because of great experience last year, Captain Eric did not let us down.He not only put us on the fish a ll day , he was very engaging to a curious12 year old. 4 Hour Trip - Stripers mid morning
Great for Adults and Kids
My family had one of the most relaxing and fun trips. We did a 4 hour stripped bass trip with my wife, 7 year old, and 4 year old. Our kids had a blast and the boat was extremely clean and felt spacious for the 4 of us. We caught mackerel first which we used for the stripped bass. Thanks Captain Eric for an excellent trip.

My family of 5 including 3 young adult sons had a spectacular time with Capt Erik. He was clear in rules of safety before we got under way and was very accommodating with teaching us how to use the equipment to ensure we had a successful trip. We caught 8 fish between the 5 of us thanks to Capt Erik’s knowledge and expertise on knowing where the fish were. I would definitely recommend booking a charter with GQ.
