The fish in these waters include Striped Bass, Haddock, Cod, Blue Shark, Mako Shark, Porbeagle Shark, Thresher Shark, Pollock, Bluefish, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 28' Hydra-Sports center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

Our charter with Captain Eric was the highlight of our Maine trip. Despite a slow start, Captain Eric kept us on the prowl and even stayed out an extra 45 minutes to make sure everyone on the boat was able to catch a Striped Bass. Captain Eric himself was friendly, knowledgable, and skilled, making sure we got the most out of our time on the water. We highly recommend working with GQ Charters!
Eric was a great hospitable host! We caught some mackerel but despite the captains best efforts the stripers eluded us. Some days are like that! The boat was clean and the conditions comfortable with six passengers. I would definitely book again. It was good family time regardless of the outcome. We packed snacks and there were beverages on board. Bonus was getting to see a seal on our trip!
We had an incredible experience on our recent 8-hour shark fishing charter! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Captain Erik was fantastic, laid back, friendly, polite, and so easy to talk to. He made everyone feel welcome and at ease. The boat itself was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked with snacks and drinks, which was such a nice touch. We caught both fish and shark, which made the day even more exciting. It was a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. This trip was such a memorable experience for our whole family, we’re already talking about booking again next year. Our kids had a wonderful experience on thr ocean catching mackrel and a striper bass! They cannot wait until our next trip! Highly recommended! Captain was so good with our kids - very understanding, answered all their questions, and kept them busy/intrigued the entire time!

we caught mackerel ise for bait and tuen a huge striped bass that was the highlight of the trip. The captain was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of fishing tips to my sons and nephew to help them after we left the charter. We will definitely be back to see Captain Eric.
