Everglades City, United States
- Background
- I was born and raised in the Everglades area, learning how to fish and hunt from my father and grandfather. My earliest memories are of spending time in the Ten Thousand Islands with my family, visiting the old hermit who lived on the islands, while fishing and blue crabbing. I eventually started operating an airboat in the waters around Everglades City and then married into a local family whose ancestors are pioneers of these islands. Being around the water as a child, and as an adult, has allowed me to broaden my knowledge of fishing which led to my current career as a Licensed Charter Captain. There is nothing better than spending time on the water fishing and sightseeing in one of the worlds most beautiful national parks. Join me on a guided charter excursion in the Everglades National Park and Ten Thousands Islands.
- Techniques
- We will be fishing with light tackle while in the back country and inshore around the islands. Offshore fishing with heavy tackle around structures, lights and wrecks. We will use hard and soft baits as well as live bait such as shrimp, crabs and any live bait we catch throwing a cast net.
