Captain Mike and First Mate John of Mama Tried Fishing were outstanding!  I cannot recommend them enough!  The boat was nice, new and clean.  But the stars were Mike and John.  Mikes knowledge about fishing was amazing.  He took us straight out and we hit fish immediately.  My party of 6 had 4 older teens eager to fish.  He and John made this an unforgettable trip for them and me!  There is no deciding…book with Mama Tried Fishing with Capatin Mike!

Big chop kept us inshore but we got on some good spots…caught Trout, Cubera, Gag Grouper, a Jack Crevalle and a couple big nasty cats. my little guy(6) had a great time despite not catching the GT hes been wanting. Captain Eddy was great and the boat super nice.

First time ocean fishing and Captain Mike and his crew mate John were spectacular. Very informative about everything, also very patient with beginners. I would recommend Mama Tried to every one who visits Anna Maria for fishing! We caught well over 30 fish, leaving with 14 fish to eat. They clean the fish for us and everything! Overall amazing experience.

My friends and I went out for a half day charter and had the best time ever. Captain Michael had everything we needed, cut bait, live bait, and every rod, reel, and lure we could’ve possibly needed! We went about 14 miles out, and from the first drop, we were fish on! This is the perfect trip and experience whether you’re a beginner angler or experienced.

The most important part of any charter for us, is the environment.  The fishing is obviously important too, but we had 2 young guys with us (7 & 8) and Mike and John were absolutely amazing helping ensure they had not only a great time, but also caught bunches of fish!  They haven’t stopped talking about it.  We will definitely be back one day.
