6hr Trip - Ground Fishing (PM) • 2 adults • 1 childBooked this charter for myself and my 8 year old son. Before we even got to the fishing grounds I knew we’d be booking another. Incredibly knowledgeable captain and crew. Kept my son engaged in fishing the whole time while catching a ton of fish at captain Derek’s “fishing holes”. More than once he brought us to places that were full of fish. His deckhand Avery was amazing with my son. Highly recommend this charter. Thanks again guys. You made us some great memories!

7hr Trip-Sharks • 4 adults • 2 childrenThis was our first family fishing adventure. Captain Derek was a great resource and extremely helpful both before the charter and during. He moved our start time to adjust for better weather and it made the day. We got on the shark fishing grounds and started fishing for bait fish. Kids and adults had a blast! Every cast seemed to catch multiple fish! Cod, whiting, mackerel, and even squid. Got some good bait in the live well, started a chum slick, and set the big tackle! Kids, and adults, couldn't stop bottom fishing! Then some thing hit our squid bait and our 8 year old got to reel in his first big catch. A 36" Porbeagle shark! Exactly what we came there to catch. Great pictures with the little beast. We ended the day with just the one shark but a ton of great memories. We took home the rest of the squid and they were the best calamari we ever had! Son keeps talking about next year with Captain Derek!

10hr Trip-Full day ground fish • 3 adultsCaptain Derek and his 1st Mate Kevin were great. Boat arrived on time and was well equipped and ready for our full day of ground fishing. Fishing started off spotty, but Caotain Derek never quit and jumped from soot to spot until he put us on the fish. He was very knowllesgeable of the waters and how to target to the ground fish we were after. His mate Kevin was very attentive and kept us baited up and quickly untangled those lines when needed. The 3 of us went home with enough Haddock, Redfish and Pollock filets for a few dinners and some fish Tacos. Waves and rollers got rough towards the end of the day, but Captain Derek never quit! On the way back in Captain Derek even made time for us to take a few attempts at some Mackerel and Striper. i would definitely recommend Captain Derek and the Eastern Viking.

6hr Trip-Ground Fishing (AM) • 3 adultsFirst time out with those captain, and I took two guys with me who had never been deep sea fishing. Captain in first mate, very knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to interact with. Captain Derrick dealt well and vigilantly with the potential for some rough seas, and we all had a great time. Well, hopefully join him again.

10hr Trip-Full day ground fish • 4 adultsWe had a charter get canceled by the captain two days prior to the trip, due to slow fishing in his area. I found Eastern Viking Charters and booked to salvage our plans. I'm glad I did. Captain Derek was great. he put us on the fish. We caught a great mix of Haddock, Pollock, Cusk and Redfish. The four of us all went home with a fat bag of fish. His 35' downeast was comfortable underway with a spacious deck for fishing. Go book with Derek, he'll take good care of you.
