Heading to Drydock

Every year, boats all around the country begin the yearly task of going to dry dock. This is where we haul out for maintenance such as scraping the barnacles off, repainting the bottom and hull, fiberglass work, etc. During this time, some boats also go through annual inspections by the Coast Guard to make sure we are in compliance with all the rules. They inspect the bottom and hull area, engine room and bilges, as well as paperwork and safety equipment. Safety is always first here on the Mighty Fine and we work hard to keep our boat in top shape. Dry dock can take anywhere from several days to several weeks, depending on what needs to be done. Here in Destin, in our fishing community, its amazing to see the fleet coming together to get ready for the upcoming season. While at the boatyard, many captains, mates, and extra hands are always willing to help where it is needed. This year, the Mighty Fine will clean and repaint the bottom and hull, clean, inspect, and repaint the running gear, have our electronics inspected and maintenance done if needed. Coast Guard will come and inspect as well. Many hours of hard work will be put into keeping us in top shape for the 2018 fishing season. We can't wait to get started!!

Long live the Kings!! Action packed trips already this week, lots of kings, Spanish, mingo snapper plus lots of catch and release red snapper, amberjacks, and triggerfish. Weather is beautiful and the fishin is good!

Spring time is here and the weather is absolutely beautiful in Destin, FL. We have been busy on the Mighty Fine, meeting new friends and fishing the beautiful waters of the Emerald Coast ! Plenty of fish hitting the dock and plenty of catch and release as well, for fish out of season. Come fish with us today!!!

Fantastic fishing charter experience. They easily accommodated our group of 13 and made everything smooth and enjoyable from the start. The captain was great, very knowledgeable and put us right on the fish. The deckhand worked incredibly hard the entire time. The charter was amazing! We went with 12 guys on a Bachelor Trip and caught over 50+ fish on our 5 hour trip. I have to give a huge shout out to the First Mate/Deck Hand, Caden! He was moving a mile a minute the entire time. Helping us re-tie when a fish broke us off, had bait on the hooks right after the last fish was caught, etc. He really made sure we got to utilize the most time with lines in the water! 10/10 recommend these guys if you are wanting to be put on some fish in Destin!... Caden & Cap’n Gavin were amazing. Great communication, easy booking and a reminder call the noght before. I had preared myself to be brave and put the yucky stuff on the hook but Caden was ON IT!! We had the best time catching 🎣 fish, learning how to reel and 🎏 getting to take home all the yummy fish! We brought on our own drinks & snacks an soaked up all the goodtimes and memories! Our family of 9 enjoyed our time with Mighty Fine Charters. Our captain, Gavin, made every effort to keep us “on” the fish and would move to the next spot if our catch rate didn’t suit him. Crew mate Cayden did a great job of keeping us baited, the deck cleaned off, and assisting us when needed. We definitely kept him busy! We would definitely go back on this charter!

We had a group of 8 withdiffering levels of experience. Gavin put us right on the red snapper again and again. Even after getting run off by dolphins. We limited reds and also caught king mackrel and bonita. Every left the trip happy and ready to book the next. Dont hesitate to book with Mighty Fine for your next trip! You wont be dissapointed!!
