What a great time we had with Captain Mike and Nick of the Mighty Fine.  It was a beautiful day and we were on fish from the very first bait that hit the water.  After we docked from our morning trip all the other boats were amazed at the number of fish we had caught.  The Jacks were biting so hard and fierce, we caught our limit but some just didn’t make the length.  Nick is a great first mate who never ran out of energy even after cleaning all the catch of the day.  I would recommend at least the 6 hour trip and wish we had gone longer.  Will be making a return trip on the Mighty Fine in the near future for sure.

Booked an 8-hour fishing trip with Mighty Fine Charters (offtopic, we are from FishingBooker). It was a pleasure being aboard this boat with great professionals (both Capt. Bud and first mate Nick). The owner Lin took care of us properly and we had no concerns whatsoever.

The trip started at 6:00 am. There was a military practice at the time so we had to circle around it to reach the fishing grounds (where the big fish hides). That was not a problem as Capt. Bud knows how to put you on fish! We targeted Red Snapper (not in season so we couldn’t keep them), Vermilion Snapper, Triggerfish (tasty!) and similar bottom fish species. After playing around with them for an hour or so, we headed further offshore to catch Amberjack and more Red Snapper (catch and release). We were constantly busy as Nick took good care of us, hooked our bait and the only thing we needed to do is reel in the fish. After some time we started doing it on our own but Nick was constantly there to help and Capt. Bud knew where the fish is.

The big advantage of this boat is its size and the A/C. Oh, what a difference it made! We decided to go back “home” around 12:30 as we were pretty far offshore and needed an hour and a half to get back to the dock. On the way back, we trolled a bit and had one bite (Wahoo), but nothing happened as the fish got away right after biting the artificial lure.

Throughout the trip, we used different bait. From dead bait (for bottom fishing), live bite (for catching Amberjack) to artificial lures whenever we were trolling (when changed fishing spots). The end result was 5-6 Amberjack (all released), maybe 20+ Red Snapper (all released), 10 triggerfish (kept 4) and 3 nice-sized Vermilion Snapper. Overall, a great experience aboard Mighty Fine Charters! We highly recommend them to any group!

Great trip, we would definitely book the Mighty Fine again.  Everyone was very personable and professional.  Very family friendly boat.  Deck hand Nick was great helping our boys (and helping their dad reel in a 6 foot shark).  We caught our limit of big red snapper, vermilion snapper, trigger fish, lane snapper, ruby-something (?), and probably hooked more than the one shark we pulled up.  Captain Bud put us right on the fish, and was also great helping our boys have fun,

These guys know where the fish are. Every time we stopped we were right on the bite. Nick helped with some hard pulling Amber Jacks, and got us hooked up on some King Mackrel. We couldn’t have asked for better seas, temp, nice breeze, and overall great trip. My wife’s first trip out and she is HOOKED! We will be back in the spring and hopefully back on the MIGHTY FINE!
