Mighty Fine Charters is an exciting new addition to the Destin harbor. Owned by mother of two Lindley Staples Ward, this charter boat is the result of generations of family fishing and the desire to provide fun, affordable, family fishing trips. As the daughter of Capt. Harold Staples of the charter boat Al-Lin, Lindley is no stranger to the world of charter fishing. The boat is operated by Captain Gavin Ward.
The Mighty Fine is a 50ft. custom Glenn Young Sport Fisherman that is Coast Guard certified to carry up to 14 passengers per trip. The vessel comes equipped with a range of marine technology for both navigation and locating fish. There is plenty of room in the air-conditioned cabin as well as out on the spacious fishing deck. Other amenities on board include a microwave oven and an electric grill.
The Mighty Fine is outfitted with a clean bathroom, comfortable seating both inside and outside, and bunks down below for anyone needing to take a rest. Ice, tackle, licenses, and dead bait are all included in the price.
Your trip will start by stocking up on live bait by stopping near the shore on the way out to the fishing grounds. (When available) Using live bait is preferred by most charter boats out of Destin and tends to add to the overall fishing experience. Plus, it gives you the chance to get your 'sea-legs' working.
The fantastic crew aboard the Mighty Fine works hard to give you the perfect trip no matter if it's deep sea bottom fishing, trolling, exciting shark fishing, or an afternoon family excursion. They welcome all levels of anglers on board from the complete beginners to the advanced fishermen.

Fantastic fishing charter experience. They easily accommodated our group of 13 and made everything smooth and enjoyable from the start. The captain was great, very knowledgeable and put us right on the fish. The deckhand worked incredibly hard the entire time. We kept him busy dehooking fish and rebaiting lines, and he stayed on top of it all without missing a beat. The boat and equipment were excellent, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. At the end of the trip, they filleted more than 50 fish in less than 15 minutes, which was seriously impressive. Highly recommend this crew for your next fishing trip. They know what they are doing and make sure you have a great time!
The charter was amazing! We went with 12 guys on a Bachelor Trip and caught over 50+ fish on our 5 hour trip. I have to give a huge shout out to the First Mate/Deck Hand, Caden! He was moving a mile a minute the entire time. Helping us re-tie when a fish broke us off, had bait on the hooks right after the last fish was caught, etc. He really made sure we got to utilize the most time with lines in the water! 10/10 recommend these guys if you are wanting to be put on some fish in Destin! I will definitely be booking with them next time around.
We had a group of 8 withdiffering levels of experience. Gavin put us right on the red snapper again and again. Even after getting run off by dolphins. We limited reds and also caught king mackrel and bonita. Every left the trip happy and ready to book the next. Dont hesitate to book with Mighty Fine for your next trip! You wont be dissapointed!!
Caden & Cap’n Gavin were amazing. Great communication, easy booking and a reminder call the noght before. I had preared myself to be brave and put the yucky stuff on the hook but Caden was ON IT!! We had the best time catching 🎣 fish, learning how to reel and 🎏 getting to take home all the yummy fish! We brought on our own drinks & snacks an soaked up all the goodtimes and memories! Great for adults and youngin’s. 👉🏼 BOOK the trip!
We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to book again! We planned this trip to celebrate our son’s 12th birthday with our family, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The crew was absolutely incredible! Friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone had a great time. The fishing was great, the atmosphere was fun, and they made the whole experience memorable for our son. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic day on the water!
