- Background
- My Fishing Journey Fishing has always fascinated me. As a boy, I spent countless hours on streams and small lakes, learning from mentors and sharing adventures with friends. Each passing year, my passion for fishing and the outdoors grew stronger. In 1999, everything changed when I caught my first King Salmon on Lake Ontario near Pulaski, NY. From that moment, I was hooked for life. By 2005, I began fishing Lake Ontario on my own, steadily building my experience and knowledge of its waters. Over the years, I had the privilege of working as a first mate for several charter captains, honing my skills and learning the ins and outs of professional guiding. In April 2022, I proudly earned my Captain’s License—a milestone that reflects both my dedication to the sport and my commitment to sharing it with others.
- Techniques
- At Pondskipper Fishing Adventures, our primary techniques are trolling and jigging, allowing us to target a wide variety of species throughout the season. For cold-water species such as Salmon, Lake Trout, and Brown Trout, we troll using downriggers to precisely control depth. For warm-water species like Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskellunge, and Bass, as well as springtime Brown Trout, we run in-line planer boards to effectively cover a wide spread of water. We also jig for Perch, Bass, and Walleye, providing a fun and hands-on fishing experience.
