My love for fishing started at an early age salmon fishing in Iceland. That passion grew and led me to guide on a couple world famous rivers in Iceland. That love shifted towards saltwater when I had access to a boat. When I caught my first 'albie' 15 years ago I was 'ruined', freshwater took a back seat.

    Great trip considering the conditions

    4 Hr – Fishing Trip • 2 adults

    Great captain who knew where the fish were at! Brought my little brother, who's decent at casting, on a charter. The conditions were pretty gnarly, but Wes put us on top of bonitos early and made sure we didn't go home empty handed. The great thing about Wes is that he's patient and, of course, knows where to look for the bite. The worst thing is getting a captain who gets angry when you don't cast in the right spot, constantly tells you what you're doing wrong, or, in some cases, grabs a rod right out of your hand. Wes is not that guy. Will definitely book with him again the next time I go on a charter!

    Wes was a great captain with great communication on location and arrival for our trip. He got us on the fish and was great helping and guiding my son. He was fun, experienced and made our trip awesome. hooked onto some great fish and he stayed out as the fish were hot.

    My son I had a fantastic day on the water. Captain Wes made our day! He's super friendly, knowledgeable and doesn't stop working to find fish. He had us on fish all day. If looking your looking to fish in the Norwalk area, Captain Wes is your man.

    Trip was fun, hooked two small bluefish and Captain Wes worked hard to find us some fish on a difficult day. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get out on the Sound!

Good news. A lot of bass decided the stick around and stay this year. The bite has been very good a several spots on the outgoing tide. Jigs and topwater are all in play still!

Topwater Bass

The reefs have been on fire in the am with big bass (some up to 30lbs) chasing bunker as the tide pushes them against structure. When the sun comes up there are more and more fish hanging low on the reefs where we have been successful vertical jigging for them and using spoons. Some reports of Bluefish sunning themselves on calm days out in the middle.
