Half Day Trip – Private • 4 adults • 1 childDefinitely not what we expected. We had to wade through the crashing waves to get on the boat. Once on the boat, we were soaked. The boat had to get through the breakers coming ashore. After a 20-minute ride, we started trolling. We did a half-day inshore trip expecting to catch grouper, snapper, and hopefully a rooster fish or 2. The crew didn’t have any live bait on board, so bottom fishing was pretty much a bust. We trolled for 3 hours and managed to only catch 2 small Spanish mackerel. Finally, we did some jigging with spoons. The tackle was very cheap quality. The reels would not free spool at all. We had to hand-pull line off the reels, which was a nightmare when fishing in 100 feet of water. It was the absolute worst fishing experience I’ve ever been on.
