I have grown up in Florida my whole life and have always loved the outdoors and especially fishing. It all started when I was young fishing on the pier and eventually becoming a mate on a headboat working my way up for my captains license; to now having my own charter business taking clients fishing to get there trophy catch!

    Captain Colton was Amazing!

    KIDS TRIP 3 hours - 12:00 PM4 adults2 children

Captain Colton was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, he was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made the entire experience not only successful but truly memorable especially for my two young sons. This trip was my son’s birthday present, and Captain Colton went above and beyond to make it special. We caught fish, had an incredible time on the water, and he even took the time to clean and package everything for us. His professionalism, kindness, and ability to work so well with kids made all the difference. We will definitely be returning and look forward to many more fishing trips with Captain Colton. Highly recommend! 🎣

Catch fish with Captain Colton and Hector

    3/4 day (6 Hour Trip)3 adults

Great fishing with Captain Colton and Hector. Rough conditions but the two stayed focused on productive fishing. We caught a Mahi on the troll. Then switched to kite fishing with live bait and the action started. We hooked into a big fish and fought it for a long while. With Colton and Hector giving instructions and moving the boat, the 30lb Kingfish was landed. Colton offered us several different methods of fishing and worked with us to target what we wanted to catch. Colton and Hector both have excellent communication skills and Hector filleted our fish with attention to maximize the meat.

    Reported catch:
    King Mackerel (Kingfish)
    Dolphin (Mahi Mahi)

Captain Colton got our 4 person group fish

    DRIFT FISHING SHARED TRIP4 adults

plan A was drift fishing in 100', few bites but no catch. moved to 300' changed to 3 baited hooks on each pole (4 poles), hit immediately, ended up with around 13 keepers, we kept 7 vermillon snappers which he fileted and deboned, packed with ice and we later made delicious dinner. So Colton very knowledgeable about area fishing and very helpful setting up rigs, I've never ocean fished before and not fished since my teens, i was very pleased with his personality and ability to understand and act on what we needed to make the trip a success. will go back next year in search of larger fish. our group was 2 married couples, 2 men, 2 women, no restroom on boat for 4 hour trip but he did offer to pull over in harbor on the way out so that was nice. the boat is great working condition, has modern equipment and in this case well Captained.

    Reported catch:
    Vermilion Snapper

Thanks for leaving the review. Glad you had a good time and were able to take home some good meat for dinner. I would love to hear some feedback from you on the 4 star rating of the boat to see where we can improve. Thanks for fishing with us!

    December fishing trip

DRIFT FISHING SHARED TRIP2 adults1 child

My 10-year-old son and I had an amazing fishing trip with Get Reel. Our captain, Colton, was very generous, kind, and took the time to share his knowledge. The fish weren’t at their easiest, but he didn’t give up—he varied his techniques and changed locations several times to make sure we caught some great fish. It was our first trip with you, but certainly not our last. Thank you.

    Response from Charter operator

This was an awesome trip, even with the language barrier between your son and I; I could just tell how good of a fisherman he must be back home killing the walleye and salmon. I hope to see you again next year. Thanks for fishing with us!

    Fantastic experience!

    DRIFT FISHING SHARED TRIP2 adults

Colton and Hector were super helpful and brought a great vibe to our trip! There were only 2 fish caught on the 4hr trip, but when we got back everyone said it was a slow day. We still had an amazing time and they made sure all of us got to reel something up for the full experience. Definitely recommend Get Reel and hope to come back to them again on our next trip.

    Response from Charter operator

Thank you for the great review Kenzi! We had a great time with you guys. Wish the fishing was a little better but nonetheless a great day spent on the water! We hope to see you again!

Temperatures usually start to cool by the end of the month, inviting a greater number of surface fish. Sailfish might start showing up, with Kingifsh still being active over the reefs. Tarpon is great inshore.

Awesome Spring Time Fishing

Apr 29, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Spring time fishing has been nothing short of incredible lately! We’ve had consistent action across the board, with many trips producing a great variety of species including sailfish, mahi mahi, blackfin tuna, and kingfish. Some days it feels like you never know what’s going to show up next, which is what makes this time of year so exciting offshore. The conditions have lined up perfectly and the fish have been cooperating, giving our clients steady bites and unforgettable experiences on the water. Whether trolling, kite fishing, or fishing live bait, the action has stayed consistent and we truly couldn’t ask for better spring fishing right now!

4 hour Morning and Afternoon trip

Feb 28, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Fishing Report – Today’s Charters ? Another great day on the water! Our morning trip started off strong with a sailfish and kingfish hitting the deck. Conditions were calm with very little wind or current, but bump trolling live baits kept us in the game and paid off with happy customers and solid action. In the afternoon, the wind picked up enough to get the kites flying. After an early kingfish cut-off, about 20 minutes later our long kite bait got crushed for a trophy bite! Trevor landed an incredible fish and even had a replica mount made to remember the catch — safe to say he couldn’t have been happier. Great crews, great memories, and another successful day offshore!

Fishing Report – 02/21/26 | 4 Hour Trip

Feb 21, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Beautiful flat calm conditions made for a great day on the water. The action started quickly with a sailfish hooked within the first 10 minutes of trolling — always exciting to land a trophy fish before even getting fully offshore! Once the trolling bite slowed, we switched to bottom fishing and managed to put a few tasty snapper in the box despite a strong current. Eric and Grayson had a great trip and went home happy with fresh fish for dinner. Another fun and successful half-day trip with smiling clients and bent rods!

Fishing Report – 02/20/26 – Fort Lauderd

Feb 20, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Fishing was a grind today, but the crew stayed at it and made it happen. On our morning shared charter, we dealt with a ripping current pushing 2.5–3 mph, which made bottom fishing a challenge. Even with the tough conditions, we managed to box up a nice mix of Vermillion Snapper, Lane Snapper, and Triggerfish to keep the coolers filling. For the afternoon 3-hour quick trip, we switched gears and put the lines out trolling. That move paid off with a solid 10 lb tuna hitting the deck. We also picked away at a few more snapper on the bottom despite the heavy current. No trophies today, but that’s fishing — conditions change daily. The important part? Happy clients and fresh fish for dinner. Everyone went home with some quality meat, and that’s always a win in our book. If you’re thinking about getting offshore, now’s the time to book. Let’s go fishing! — Capt. Colton ?

Febuary Fishing

Feb 17, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Fishing is getting better and better, we had a nice cold front pushing a lot of fish through. We have had some of our best fishing using live bait for Sailfish, kingfish, and there has also been some mahi pushing through with the cold front. Sailfish bite has been hot the past week.

Winter time fishing

Feb 17, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Winter time fishing here in Fort Lauderdale has been very productive, and we’ve been taking full advantage of the seasonal conditions. When those winter winds start blowing, that’s when things get exciting offshore. We’re able to put the kites up and slow-troll pristine goggle eyes across the surface — one of the most effective techniques for targeting sailfish this time of year. Watching a sailfish light up behind a bait and crash it on the surface never gets old. Along with the sails, we’ve been seeing some quality bycatch mixed in, keeping the action steady and the rods bent. When the wind lays down, we switch gears and stay dialed in on the bottom bite. The snapper fishing has been consistent, and we’ve been putting together some great boxes with tasty species that make for an incredible dinner after the trip. Whether we’re fishing reefs or deeper structure, we adjust to the conditions to keep the action going. The trolling bite has been a little slower over the past couple of months, which is typical this time of year, but the afternoon trips have rewarded us with some nice tunas as the sun starts to drop. That late-day bite can turn on quick and give us a strong finish to the trip. If you’ve been thinking about booking, now is the time. Winter is prime sailfish season, and the snapper bite has been steady. Whether you’re looking to chase a trophy sailfish or load up on great-tasting fish for the table, we’re ready to get you out there and make it happen.
