Background
My father was a fisherman and built his own boats with each one getting larger . He built them starting in New Orleans, Louisiana and then Biloxi, Mississippi. I helped him build the last several boats. They were all charter boats. I started fishing with my father from an early age which was before I became a teenager. I love fishing and my children have their own charter boats now also. OCTOBER RODEO IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! EXCITING FUN SO BOOK YOUR TRIP SOON!
Techniques
The Al-Lin mostly bottom fishes or we troll. The captain keeps up with what fish can be caught during the season year round and Captain Harold keeps up with the weather at all times in advance. The boat, Al-Lin, uses hook and line.

Captain was great.  Fishing was ok just expected to catch more of targeted fish.  The 2nd mate didn’t seem to be as experienced and fell behind quite often so poles weren’t in the water as often as they needed to be.  Overall decent trip and experience for the money and time.  I would recommend to experienced deep sea fisherman for full day trip.

Due to engine failure, Al-Lin was out of commission so we were put on Silver Hook. We ventured out right away, 6:30 sharp…I kind of felt a light safety instruction should have been initiated. On our way out of the no wake, my group was very excited to get out and drop some lines, but we weren’t really given any agenda! Scott rigged some lines and we bait fished, I would have preferred we already had bait beforehand so as to get deep water fishing more quickly. Once collecting a small amount of bait, we set off, kinda, seas were 3-4 ft??? The silver Hook isn’t a very large boat and seemed to chug along rather slowly. Also, if you are ~6ft, WATCH YOUR HEAD!!!
OVERALL, we had a great time and would do it again. Scott was great with keeping us baited during fishing and cleaned up our catch great. Captain kept the boat, crew and us in ship shape! Not a big haul in, but we had a blast and caught enough to taste the experience!!!!

GREAT TRIP.  Our first time was great and very educational.  Our family had a blast everyone caught several fish.  We did a 4hr trip just to make sure everyone liked it.  Next time we ll do an all day trip.  The Al lin is an older vessel but a smooth ride.
