Stick to the bays and the Gulf's shoreline waters for the chance to hook Redfish and Sheepshead. Feeling more adventurous? Bull Reds can be hooked by the reefs, as well as Snapper species.

Huge Bull Reds are biting within the bays and the Gulf's inshore waters. If you're visiting during this time, book in advance – it's Spring Break, which means charters are in high demand!

For many locals, April marks the real start of the fishing season, with Galveston Bay just brimming with Speckled Trout and Redfish. On the Gulf side, Cobia can be found nearshore, as well as Grouper and Snapper.

As the weather continues to heat up, so does the angling action. Soak up the sun as you cruise the bay for Bull Redfish, or explore the emerald green waters of the Gulf for Shark species, including Bull and Spinner.

Attention, Red Snapper fanatics: This is when the federal season opens, which means anglers traveling on federally-licensed charters can hook and keep the huge variations of this fish found in deeper offshore waters.

This is the time to visit if you're looking to battling some world-famous big game species, with Billfish and huge Tuna lurking offshore. There are plenty of long-range charters waiting to take you to the hotspots!

Big game fishing remains hot, making this a great time to head offshore to battle Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna species, and many more. Snapper and Grouper can be hooked around the reefs, and bay fishing is plentiful, too.&nbsp;

The temperatures start to drop, but Gulf fishing is still seriously productive. Nearshore, you can target Mackerel and Shark species, as well as Cobia. Bay fishing offers up Speckled Trout and Bull Reds.

The inshore waters of the bays and the Gulf are brimming with Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder, with San Luis Pass being a particularly productive spot. Red Snapper continue to lurk around the reefs.

The waters may be cooling slightly, but the fishing shows no signs of slowing down, with inshore trips being particularly productive. Flounder, Specks, and Redfish can all be found in the bays.

End your year on a high note, and head to Surfside Beach to sample some incredible fishing. Flounder, Speckled Trout, and Redfish are all on offer inshore, and huge Snapper species can be hooked by the reefs.
