Arrived at location at 8 am in overcast conditions. Captain advised that rain was in the forecast aand if we wanted to proceed. we decided to go ahead. Boarded boat and stored our gear and set out. This was a great fishing trip! Leo is a pro fisherman, with all the experience that comes from generations of azores fisherman. My son (who loves fishing) had the best time catching fish that we could never catch in the US where we live. My son can be hard to please, but he loves everything about it. We caught squid, rockfish, grouper, and other exotic (to us) fish. It was one of the most fun things we’ve done here. 5 stars for Leo’s fishing tour!

Captain Leo clearly loves sharing his traditional knowledge with clients. He let us do as much as we were comfortable with, which meant we could drop the bait, monitor depth, and detect bites, and reel up the fish.  He was very helpful teaching and showing, and he would go through the motions for us if we asked. We went on a fishing trip with Captain Leo for our friend’s birthday, who is an avid fisherman. Captain Leo was very kind and endeavored to provide for us a save and relaxed experience. This fishing trip provides a unique experience to those who wish to learn the traditional azorean way of fishing and is worlds apart from the trips you’d find in large touristic ports. I had an incredible time on this fishing trip! The captain was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt comfortable, even if you were a beginner. The boat was clean and well-equipped, and we got to see some beautiful views of the coastline while fishing.I highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area who wants a mix of adventure, relaxation, and great memories. I’ll definitely book again next time!
