I've been told they have pictures of me fishing in a mud puddle in the back yard at 5 years old (and catching fish), though I've never seen these pictures. After serving 20 years in the US Navy, traveling and fishing all over the world, and running the Navy's charter boat for Moral, Welfare. and Recreation as a part time job in Bermuda for 3 years, I retired in '90 and became a charter fishing boat owner/operator. I have literally fished all over the world. I have been lucky enough to fish for and catch Pacific Blue Marlin in Hawaii and Atlantic Blue's in Bermuda, the Bahamas, Texas, and Florida. I've caught Sailfish in Mexico, Texas, the Bahamas, and Florida as well. 4 Hour Trip – Offshore • 4 adultsWe had an incredible day on the water with Captain Guy and his deckhand! They went above and beyond to make sure the kids and i and I had an unforgettable fishing trip. They were patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to keep us on the fish all morning. They made us feel comfortable and excited, helping them every step of the way and making the experience fun for everyone. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do and care about giving their customers a great time. If you're looking for a captain who knows where the fish are and treats you like family, I highly recommend Captain Guy and his deckhand. We made memories that will last a lifetime, and we'll definitely be booking another trip with them. Five stars all the way!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore • 4 adultsWent offshore with Captain Guy and some buddies of mine. The weather conditions began taking a turn for the worse pretty early on but Guy and his first mate remained determined. They got us on the fish as soon as our live bait hit the water, double hook up on two kingfish, we ended up with four. Next came the sailfish, hearing that drag rip and watching the fish fly out of the water had us all yelling. Guy navigated the boat in heavy seas for nearly 30 minutes while we caught and released the fish of a lifetime. Great experience, great story, highly recommend to anyone looking to work with an old school, experienced captain.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore • 2 adultsWe enjoyed our trip SO MUCH! Captain Guy and the mate on board were both fantastic! The ocean didn’t cooperate with us, so we caught some sharks and then switched up and went river fishing. We caught sharks, lady fish, a baby red snapper, a ray, and some other fish. Though we couldn’t keep our catch today, we still had a blast. We HIGHLY recommend Captain Guy!

6 hour ICW • 2 adultsThis was my second outing aboard the MisTress, Suffice it to say that first trip was awesome, otherwise I wouldn't have rebooked. The crew is very professional, but also easy to talk with. The Cap'n knows the fishing spots well but was always listening to what other charter boats were saying regarding what fish were biting and where. Once they were aware I know my way around a boat and how to cast a line, they were very respectful of how I liked to fish. (Although I did create a bird's nest in one reel that the Cap'n had to detangle!!) And the first mate was always ready to lend a hand when I needed her assistance, like putting live bait on the hook when a sneaky fish was able to steal my bait without consequence. We caught quite a number of fish of a wide variety, which I was hoping for. I never did hook into a BIG FISH, or if I did, I didn't manage to land it. Oh well, maybe next time. Yes, I'll be booking with the MisTesss Charters again.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore • 3 adultsCaptain Guy and Audrey were kind, engaging and knowledgeable. They were great teachers of the area, fish species and were great to talk with! We had a 6 hour trip and caught five king mackerels, two barracuda, one Spanish mackerel and one red snapper (catch and release). We will definitely choose Captain Guy and MisStress Sportfishing Charters again!

What's biting with MisStress Sportfishing Charters in St. Augustine
Although this is usually the wettest month of the year, it has some big rewards for anglers. Sailfish can be found balling bait just 25 miles offshore and flood tides inshore make for amazing sight fishing.

Bait two throws and go, kings bit all morning. We kept a 3 person limit (9), kept a 20” Spanish macketal, released a few, released a short AJ and the sharks ate 5 kings and a cobia. Busy 6 hr offshore trip for sure.

LOTS & LOTS short vermillion snapper and black sea bass. Probably 45 bluefish that we released or cut up for bait. And, 19 big Red Snapper we had to release because the season is closed. Fun day and everyone caught their biggest fish ever. Doesn’t get much better.
