MisStress Sportfishing Charters
Book your next trip with MisStress Sportfishing Charters and come explore the waters of St. Augustine, Florida! Captain Guy Spear can take you fishing anywhere from the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to the ocean waters 35 miles offshore. With a lifetime of worldly experience to offer, he will send your family home with a great catch and fond memories.
The MisStress is a 27' Customized Aquasport powered by a single Honda 250 HP 4 stroke engine. This vessel comes equipped with Garmin electronics, outriggers, and a live bait well. On board you will find top of the line fishing gear, featuring the craftsmanship of Penn, Daiwa, Shakespeare, and more.
While fishing with Capt. Guy you will have your choice of inshore fishing along the ICW or an offshore excursion into the Atlantic.
You can fish the ICW using 10 lb spinning tackle and live bait for Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, and Pompano. You can also enjoy catch-and-release fishing for Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, and Bluefish. Fly fishermen are welcome but you must bring own gear.
While fishing offshore you can troll for feisty pelagic species or bottom fish near the reefs for some of the tastiest fish in these waters. Trolling is outstanding in summer, with a chance to catch Barracuda, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Sharks, King Mackerel, Little Tunny, and more.
You can enjoy excellent bottom fishing year round for a variety of Snapper, Grouper, and Seabass. Bottom fishing is usually best in colder months, but still available upon request in summer. Some species (such as Red Snapper) may be closed to harvest at certain times.
MisStress Sportfishing Charters include a license and all the gear you need. You are welcome to bring food and drinks (beer is allowed, but no glass bottles). Don't forget a hat, sunscreen, and your phone or camera for action pictures.
Children are always welcome. Bring them aboard for a family outing and teach them to fish while they're young!

We had an incredible day on the water with Captain Guy and his deckhand! They went above and beyond to make sure the kids and i and I had an unforgettable fishing trip. They were patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to keep us on the fish all morning. They made us feel comfortable and excited, helping them every step of the way and making the experience fun for everyone. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do and care about giving their customers a great time. If you're looking for a captain who knows where the fish are and treats you like family, I highly recommend Captain Guy and his deckhand. We made memories that will last a lifetime, and we'll definitely be booking another trip with them. Five stars all the way!
Went offshore with Captain Guy and some buddies of mine. The weather conditions began taking a turn for the worse pretty early on but Guy and his first mate remained determined. They got us on the fish as soon as our live bait hit the water, double hook up on two kingfish, we ended up with four. Next came the sailfish, hearing that drag rip and watching the fish fly out of the water had us all yelling. Guy navigated the boat in heavy seas for nearly 30 minutes while we caught and released the fish of a lifetime. Great experience, great story, highly recommend to anyone looking to work with an old school, experienced captain.
This was my second outing aboard the MisTress, Suffice it to say that first trip was awesome, otherwise I wouldn't have rebooked. The crew is very professional, but also easy to talk with. The Cap'n knows the fishing spots well but was always listening to what other charter boats were saying regarding what fish were biting and where. Once they were aware I know my way around a boat and how to cast a line, they were very respectful of how I liked to fish. (Although I did create a bird's nest in one reel that the Cap'n had to detangle!!) And the first mate was always ready to lend a hand when I needed her assistance, like putting live bait on the hook when a sneaky fish was able to steal my bait without consequence. We caught quite a number of fish of a wide variety, which I was hoping for. I never did hook into a BIG FISH, or if I did, I didn't manage to land it. Oh well, maybe next time. Yes, I'll be booking with the MisTesss Charters again.

Thanks Richard. We look forward to fishiing with you again your next trip down to St. Augustine.
Capt. Guy and Audry were amazing. Very knowledgeable and hardworking. My boys really wanted to catch a shark…they caught 5 including a hammerhead! The boys came home with 2 kingfish for dinner and lots of new memories. We can’t wait to come back and will absolutely be booking with Cpt. Guy and his crew!

Captain Guy and Audra were great! I would highly recommend this charter to friends and family. We caught numerous fish and sharks. Guy filleted them for us after we wrapped up. He was professional polite, and personable the whole way through. Hope to see you again!

I've been told they have pictures of me fishing in a mud puddle in the back yard at 5 years old (and catching fish), though I've never seen these pictures. After serving 20 years in the US Navy, traveling and fishing all over the world, and running the Navy's charter boat for Moral, Welfare. and Recreation as a part time job in Bermuda for 3 years, I retired in '90 and became a charter fishing boat owner/operator. I have literally fished all over the world. I have been lucky enough to fish for and catch Pacific Blue Marlin in Hawaii and Atlantic Blue's in Bermuda, the Bahamas, Texas, and Florida. I've caught Sailfish in Mexico, Texas, the Bahamas, and Florida as well. Now I specialize in teaching/instructing young (and not so young) anglers in light and medium tackle live bait trolling techniques, bottom fishing, and light spinning tackle (live and plastic bait) fishing in the ICW and its feeder creeks.I''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
