I've been a fisherman all of my life. Starting with the Zebco bait casting reel as a toddler, I graduated to bigger and better tools and techniques as I grew older. Trout fishing was my main hobby growing up. But as a young man, I always had my eye on charter fishing and I always knew that someday I would be a charter captain on the Lake Erie. After fishing with my dad in his small boat for many years on the local lakes and rivers, I bought my first boat in 2008 and I started getting a taste of the Lake Erie experience. My second boat didn't come long after that. I fished the big pond every chance that I got. I've been fishing Lake Erie for over 18 years now. I got my credentials in order and I obtained my six-pack charter license in 2015. I'm in my 12th year as a charter captain and I can compete with the best of the longer tenured captains. They say that '10% of the fisherman catch 90% of all the fish'. I put myself in that category. The proof is in the pudding.

    All and all it was a good trip.

    Morning walleye trip for 2 people • 2 adults

    Captain Dan and deck mate Jeff really made it a good trip for my father and I. We booked a 3 day trip first to day out on the lake by 7 limited out on walleye and back in by 11. They crew made it a great experience and took care of everything we could have asked for. I appreciate the time out. The third day had to be canceled due to weather on the lake making it just to rough to go out. 4-6 foot waves just wasn't worth the risk. Still going home with nearly 40 lbs of walleye fillets to take home.

    Afternoon Walleye trip for 4 people • 4 adults

    Captain Dan and deckhand Jeff were first class!! We were fishing for walleye and we all caught our limit in record time. They were very accommodating and made it a very special experience for our family. They were very personable, educational and had great senses of humor.

    Captain Dan and first mate did a wonderful job at getting us out on water and putting us on fish and his first mate did a great job at helping us pulling in fish and getting set back up for the next one. busy day for him with limited of walleye on the boat.

    Despite rough conditions (4-5 foot waves);we were able to get our limit. Captain Dan and first mate Jeff were very professional and very good knowledge of the water. I would highly recommend them and look forward to booking them again next year!

With the cold front coming in, both the guides and the fish take a break and there are fewer anglers around the lake. Perch become the go-to species to target in the late fall, because they don't mind the cold and they're hungry.
