- I’m Marlon Leslie, a second-generation saltwater fly fishing guide based in Placencia, Belize. I’ve spent the past two decades exploring every nook and cranny of the flats and barrier reef outside Placencia and Hopkins. My father, Charlie Leslie Sr., was one of Belize’s first professional guides, and he taught me how to read the tides, adapt to moon phases, and poling the flats. Born and raised in Placencia, I’ve been chasing Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon since I could hold a rod. That early start gave me a deep appreciation for the sport and a commitment to conservation for future generations.
