Please follow my Facebook page at Fishin Mitchigan. I grew up in Monroe Michigan fishing lake Erie as much as possible. After graduating college I moved to Midland Michigan for work and got married. When the kids came I put fishing to the side to raise the family. Since my kids are older now I got back into fishing. I fished the largest walleye tournament trail in Michigan last year. It's the Michigan Walleye Tour last and my team was among the top 40 boats to qualify for the championship. That was quite a few days away from family last year. So I decided to start a charter fishing business to share my passion for fishing with others.

    Caught lots of fish and had a blast!

    We had an awesome time out fishing with Captain Mitch. We caught a bunch of walleye, which was our main target, and also brought in a pike and a couple catfish. Mitch was great about teaching us how to rig the lines and planer boards, and he let us be hands-on the whole time, which was one of the best parts of the trip. It felt like we were actually part of the fishing experience, not just sitting back while the captain did everything and handed us the rods. We all really enjoyed that. Mitch is a great captain, his boat was comfortable and very well equipped, and we’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a great walleye charter.

    Mitch and john were awesome!! Had the absolute best experience with them, almost tagged out on the morning bite, between me, my wife and good buddy! they are very friendly and jokesters, highly recommend for a great day on the water!

    A beautiful day on the Bay

    We caught 21 walleyes in a few hours on a Satirday afternoon. Just as grand was the expertise of Captain Mitch Thomas, his well taken care of boat, and the conversation. Will gladly hire him again. Five Stars !

    What a day. Took my grandson and neighbor. Caught our limit and then some. Grandson had a giant pike on...too big for the net. Cpt Mitch is the best. I'd recommend this trip to anyone and will definitely do this again.

Great day on the water

Had a great trip on Saginaw Bay today with Jeff Rau, his grandson Logan and friend John. It started out a little sporty from the north wind but turned out to be a perfect day. The fishing was consistent the entire trip. Logan was a champ reeling in all those fish. He caught his first walleye, sheepshead and white bass. He also reeled in a 40" northern pike but it wouldn't fit in my net. I guess I need to bring a salmon net next time. We fished 17-22' running flicker minnow 7 and 9 with the 50+2 method 55-70' from the planer board @1.8-2.0mph.

Great fishing

We had a fun morning on Saginaw Bay with Jonathan Mead , Jeff Rau and Nolan Clarke before the wind blew. It was a slow start but when we found them it was game on. We boated about 45 fish with a mixed bag of several species. We fished 12-14' with flicker minnow 7s @ **hidden content** feet from the boards.

Walleye For Warriors 2026

Walleye for warriors 2026 is in the books. This is an awesome event where about 200 veterans, 100 boats come together and go fishing. This morning we were greeted with northeast winds so we ran up north to hide from the waves. My veteran friend Jonathan Mead was my first mate for Bill and Joe. We caught several species of fish including a 31" northern pike and 20 walleye. Thank you Walleye for warriors and Linwood Beach Marina for putting together a great event.

US Marines Crew

Today I had the privilege of taking my coworker Jason, his son Lewis and two close friends Kyle and Mark! Jason, Kyle and Mark served in the Marine Corps together and it's great to see they still get together despite living in different states. These guys did an awesome job running boards and reeling fish in. Lewis is a natural too. Flicker minnows and salmo hornets did the **hidden content**.

Learning trip

Did you know we do learning trips where I hop on your boat and help dial in electronics/gear to catch more fish? The weather man was wrong with the wind forecast and the morning was a little too sporty to hit the bay right away. Once the wind laid down a little we went searching. It didn't take long to figure out a decent program and turned out to be a beautiful day on Saginaw Bay. Thanks for having me aboard Rodney and Ryan!! Lake Erie Beat Down

I spent a few days down on Lake Erie in remerance of my brother Max. He unexpectedly passed away in February and it's heartbreaking to say the least. So we piled of the fish for a few days. Miss you brother!!
