Trip Summary

Walleye for warriors 2026 is in the books. This is an awesome event where about 200 veterans, 100 boats come together and go fishing. This morning we were greeted with northeast winds so we ran up north to hide from the waves. My veteran friend Jonathan Mead was my first mate for Bill and Joe. We caught several species of fish including a 31" northern pike and 20 walleye. Thank you Walleye for warriors and Linwood Beach Marina for putting together a great event.

Had a great trip on Saginaw Bay today with Jeff Rau, his grandson Logan and friend John. It started out a little sporty from the north wind but turned out to be a perfect day. The fishing was consistent the entire trip. Logan was a champ reeling in all those fish. He caught his first walleye, sheepshead and white bass. He also reeled in a 40" northern pike but it wouldn't fit in my net. I guess I need to bring a salmon net next time. We fished 17-22' running flicker minnow 7 and 9 with the 50+2 method 55-70' from the planer board @1.8-2.0mph.

We had a fun morning on Saginaw Bay with Jonathan Mead , Jeff Rau and Nolan Clarke before the wind blew. It was a slow start but when we found them it was game on. We boated about 45 fish with a mixed bag of several species. We fished 12-14' with flicker minnow 7s @ **hidden content** feet from the boards.

Today I had the privilege of taking my coworker Jason, his son Lewis and two close friends Kyle and Mark! Jason, Kyle and Mark served in the Marine Corps together and it's great to see they still get together despite living in different states. These guys did an awesome job running boards and reeling fish in. Lewis is a natural too. Flicker minnows and salmo hornets did the **hidden content**.
