Captain Javier Silva has been spearfishing for the last 30 years and has spent almost as long teaching people to dive. Capt. Javier is very big on safety. He knows that guns are not toys, even if they're used to have fun. He's never had an accident or an injury on one of his trips and he works hard on each charter to keep it that way while making sure everyone onboard has fun.

    Awesome experience!

    Half Day Trip – Shared PM (5-9 MAX) • 9 adults • 6 children

    Captain and in-water guide were great. Very patient with our big group of youngsters. And to top it off, they cooked our kill at their restaurant that same evening. Highly recommend if you’re comfortable free diving.

    Well worth the experience

    Half Day Trip – Private (1 MAX) • 1 adult

    Even though we didn’t find a ton of fish they worked hard to find them and we did get them. Highly recommend this fun group of guys, you can tell they love what they do. Make you feel relaxed and definitely go through the tips of free diving. Also highly recommend getting your fish cooked at the restaurant. Amazing…Would never have thought of using barracuda as ceviche. They cooked the hoghead fish fried and grilled. The experience and the meal afterwards was a highlight of our trip to Mexico. Would highly recommend!

    Hold your breath

    The weather was less than ideal the week we came to playa del Carmen for vacation. Javier contacted us to reschedule to a time that would have less current and more visibility. Javier was a great instructor and very patient. This was a first time for my 15 year old son and I. The fresh fish afterwards was the best meal of the trip. It was hard work but so much fun. I can’t wait to try again next year.

    If you want the best experience of your life...then look no further. It looks easier than it actually is, but Javier and Frankie can create success and fun for the most memorable trip. Our expectations were blown out of the water (pun intended.) It's not just the encounter of free diving and spearfishing, but the personal connection and amazing after-fishing cooking/eating that completes the whole experience. Our party enjoyed the connection with the guides as much as the fishing. We most definitely would book our outing with Arpon again!

    I had an amazing time on this trip! The staff are amazing, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about their spearfishing. Safety was a high priority, and I felt totally comfortable after all of their in depth instructions. I didn't get to spear a fish, but the trip was still fun and very memorable! Highly recommend this trip even if you have never spearfished before!
