- Background
- I was born and raised near Lake Erie and have always enjoyed fishing on it. I was one of the pioneers in bringing the charter business to this area. I was instrumental in the introduction of planer boards and dipsey divers to the Ashtabula and Conneaut region. I not only have experience in the Conneaut/Ashtabula area but also in the Western and Central Basins of Lake Erie using both jig and drift fishing techniques. I was also an ice fishing guide for many years! I have had articles written about me in such publications as,"The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Walleye Magazine," and believe it or not, "The Washington Post!"
- Techniques
- Depending upon the season we can and will Jig, Cast weight forward lures, and Troll. In the months of March, April, and May we will be jigging. During the last of May and June we'll be throwing weight forward spinners, and then we will transition to trolling spoons and body baits such as "Yo-zuri Crystal Minnows" as the fish move to their summer haunts. We use both braided "super lines" and stainless steel wire for our trolling needs depending upin the depth of the fish that we are targeting.
