  Great Alaskan Experience - I'm now Hooked on fishing charters!!!

  We were on an Alaskan cruise and I decided to do a fishing charter in the Last Frontier. When I saw the cruise ship prices, I turned to Fishing Booker and selected Capt Joe of Shelikof Adventures. We had excellent communication and he told me what to expect and advised me early on to get a fishing license. Also since I was on a cruise ship, I was unable to take my catch back, so he assured me he would make arrangements to ship my catch back home! I was excited when the day finally arrived, Capt Joe promptly picked me up from the cruise terminal and away we went. Capt Joe explained everything and gave a brief about the salmon and other fish I may catch. The salmon were a bit late coming in this particular year but I managed to tag out with salmon. I did catch a ling cod, that was a struggle to land but we had to let it go as it was too big to keep. Once I had tagged out, Capt Joe was kind enough to do a tour around the area, I was able to see different cliffs and we stopped by a bird sanctuary where we saw puffins and other birds. Had an excellent time on this trip. Captain Joe unhooked the fish for me, I also want to mention that I am a novice fisherman, I've only been on two charters in Florida. The good Captain was very patient with me and took the time to teach me about being a good angler, he cemented my passion for charter fishing and I plan to do more charters in my home state of Texas. Finally he accommodated me as a single angler and cruise ship passenger. He got me back with plenty of time to spare to get back on ship. Whatever you circumstance I highly recommend Shelikof Adventures and Captain Joe!!!

  Excellent day fishing with Captain Joe!

  Full Day Trip on August 9, 2026 • 2 adults

  Captain Joe provided an excellent day for us. pick up at the terminal, hooked up on King, Coho, Chum and Pink. sandwiches for fir lunch, chips, snacks, drinks and a hook line to retrieve a beer from chilling in the fish cooler🍺. A short drive through town for a couple touristy pictures before returning us to our ship at a comfortable time. Thanks Captain Joe, much appreciated. thank you wife for the fresh baked cookies. 🍪

  Great Captain!

  Full Day Trip on August 11, 2026 • 2 adults

  My son and I spent 2-days with Joe. He was very personable. He took us to various fishing spots and we caught a King Salmon as well as Coho, Pink and Chum salmon. He also took us to see, whales, eagles and puffins. It was great trip and we go out with Joe again.
